I've noticed the wind direction has changed from blowing from the north to now from the east.
Just watching the cars and 4x4s coming down the road through the floods.
There not helping matters as they come at high speed throwing up a tidal wave of water

So far the only damage is a fallen roof slate. It made one hell of a bang when it landed on the kitchen roof.
Easy enough fix as the slate is near to the velux skylight.I will be able to reach it through that.
The next door Neighbours garden shed has parted friends with its roof felt giving it a comb over affect on the one side.

Mr and Mrs P have arrived home after their visit to Lancashire.Thursday was a nightmare.Three hours to do a one and a half normal journey.Water running off fields lots of up and down country rods.Got to one place Ribchester i think and we turned back before the bridge, then made our way via a motorway. Then finding traffic jams around Goosnargh again flooding due to up and down roads.Yesterday was good took FIL for fish and chips then to the garden centre. He enjoys these little outings all the family take hiom on.Its the only thing he has left.he is 94 in two weeks time.So then today back via Manchester clearing rubbish for our son and fiance then home on a windy m62.That's it now rest of the day sitting down and a chinese tonight.

I like a nice full butt, I'll have to look at mine later.
Could use a mirror I guess; or maybe just check if your neighbour's is full.
The sun's come out here too, and the wind is easing but very gusty.

For a change, west/central area of Scotland has got off lightly. Very heavy rain and strong east wind (about 40/50 mph) overnight but since then just a bit windy. Nothing out of the ordinary in these parts, and not much different from the "summer" we had this year .
Hope the worst has passed for all those who were not so fortunate and were more affected by Darragh.

Pretty bad in Cardiff overnight. Chairs and a table blown to the bottom of the garden and two fence panels down. Have already ordered two new panels from Wickes with a delivery date of Monday. Thought I'd get in early before the rush and running out of stock.

OK, our friends have managed to get down to ours, and the 80mph gusts (Westerly, now North Westerly) have dropped to nearer 60mph. Back of house looks directly up the coast/beach looking to the West, so was always going to be this aspect along with the back garden in the eye of the storm.

House and roof OK, phew. To be honest, only relatively nominal damage to the garden, with one panel out of the greenhouse, one large pot smashed, and the garden seat below disassembled:
