Didn't sound nice at 7am and from the weather radar it looked wet for a while and our group ride got called off and I went back under the duvet. I woke 9.30ish and whilst its been wet according to the met it wasn't as heavy as forecasted. 51mph gusts were also recorded but the winds have dropped to just under 40mph. A younger us (the group) would have went out in that.

Its forecasted constant 50mph+ (57mph max) this evening and overnight and heavy rain again tomorrow so I suspect Sundays ride will also be called off but that is a different group that's never went out in inclement weather.

I risked a walk. There was one tree across the trail that would definitely have killed or seriously injured someone if they had been under it.

When I ventured out there was debris blowing about. Remember the good old days of metal dustbin lids?

Northern Rail have cancelled most of their trains. Just another excuse for those us who have to suffer their abysmal service.
Yesterdays cyber-attack communication failure cancelled all my trains, had to cancel my visit to my works christmas party, I was gutted lol

Today they seem like they are running, but I'm not going out.

Nothing in Manchesterland either. It's rained quite a lot overnight, but not enough to rattle the windows and disturb sleep. We've not got any wind either. It's slowly picking up though to a breeze at present.

My niece's makers market has been cancelled due to risks of wind. Shame as she's made a lot of Christmas stock that she won't be able to sell. She's potentially got another market tomorrow (indoors) to sell her stuff.

I think it's now due to hit this area this afternoon. Better bob to the butcher before it picks up.

Kirklees has been wet, breezy but the worst predicted to hit tonight/overnight. Theres a christmas market fayre being run at my local pub thats opted to move indoors. Shame I'm dog rough with a cough and cold otherwise I'd go and hunker down there for the evening.

My group ride got cancelled as a precaution, so far I think we would have been fine as it's just a bit blowy.
Supposed to pick up here later so maybe the gardening can wait!

I'm hoping the wind blows some of the leaves away ! Or it might end up in my front garden if it's in the 'wrong' direction. Just been to the butchers and greengrocers so stocked up with lovely food.
