Just back from an Evening dog walk here in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Dry, calm, warm. Quite a pleasant evening infact. Especially mid-storm in December 🤷‍♂️

Camping stoves?

I've got one for emergencies. Even when we had gas once the electric went neither the hob nor the boiler would ignite with these modern safety requirements, no power and the gas shuts off.

It's been pretty grim here in East Cambs since about lunchtime. Mind you, out in the fens, there's no stopping a hoolie from blowing through. I only went out to top up the wood bins in the house, and that was a singularly unpleasant task, as I had to face the teeth of the gale. Rain's not been too bad, but the wind chill from that northerly is nasty.

Trees are wanging around like crazy. I expect a few will have fainted once this has blown through.

Day been spent wisely indoors.

It's finally stopped raining here in Wales..The winds still blowing like crazy though.
In a way to I'm glad it happened today as I wouldn't of enjoyed trying to get to work in it (or working in it for that matter)

Round Peterborough, the forecast has been pretty much the same yiday and tomorrow circa 35mph winds gusting to 50 and a bit.

Yeah it's windy and quite cold out in it...seen worse.

Just been advised the peak gust recorded at Watchet next to us today was 96mph, quite frightening. Never seen worse than that in my 60 years here in the UK (Midlands then West Country).

For a change, west/central area of Scotland has got off lightly. Very heavy rain and strong east wind (about 40/50 mph) overnight but since then just a bit windy. Nothing out of the ordinary in these parts, and not much different from the "summer" we had this year .
Hope the worst has passed for all those who were not so fortunate and were more affected by Darragh.
Yes, same here in Glasgow.
Strange!
Just the -usual for this time of year- freezing drizzle yesterday.
The sky was very dark around 3 pm, so I thought that the storm would come soon.
We just had heavy rain last night only, not much wind yesterday or today.
