Was beaten for the first time by my 20yo son.
He did 19:13 and I did 19:24.

I haven't been running much ATM.

He's down the club training Tuesdays Thursdays whilst I've been pottering about once a week plus bike!!

Going to have to pull my finger out hope I can go sub 19 mins (19:06 pb)
Long run Sunday and then intervals Tuesday night ride Wednesday and long fast run Thursday...

Should do it!👍🤣

Did 10k on the local rolling loop yesterday, including an effort on the 1.45km steady hill at the end. I’m pretty sure I used to have the CR on the segment, years ago, but I’ve been supplanted by two out-of-towners who’ve done really fast times. I chipped 17 seconds off my time, dipping under 4:00/km, but was still some way off the top spot. First run for a month or so, though, so there’s room for some improvement.

Spinny Zwift ride this morning to help the legs recover!

Moved the Christmas marathon ahead a few days for the weather, and switched to laps instead of a long there and back.

3:22:36, a couple seconds slower than last year albeit it 100m further.

I was maintaining 13kph up until the end of lap 5 then my quads just kinda went and last 3 were a slow slog.

Might have another whack at it in the new year.

Pushed quite hard on the 10k loop this afternoon, did 42:08 in spite of running the first few k at a steady >7min/mile pace.

Jo’s running parkrun in Hull on Christmas Day, hopefully she’ll clock a short 22 or maybe even a 21.

Chipped a handful of seconds off my course best at Bramshall Road this morning, 19:04. Led from the front so there wasn’t anyone to pace myself from. Very slippery on the grassy bits!

Jo clocked a PB of 22:52 (down from 23:03) at Hull on Christmas day, including a slow start as she plodded to the line in a big field of nearly 700. The course also measured 100m more than our local course routinely does, so I think that it actually represents another big improvement.

Ran Basingstoke PR this morning with my brother and his Viszla. We ran pretty hard and I was struggling to keep to his shoulder (without tripping over Biscuit) for much of the second half. I finished strongly to win the sprint for fourth place from a group of four, in 18:24, which is my fastest parkrun since July 2015!
