First time I'd paced ... Nearly spot on, official time was 31:01.

I used to volunteer in the pacing events. I had a pretty good feel for pace and once hit it spot on ( though that is pure luck with the timing at the finish ) In one event I was pacing 28 minutes when the 29 minute guy started to overtake 🤔. There was a brief exchange of views as to who was running too fast / slow. I passed him again as he was virtually jogging on the spot near the finish😁. We ended up printing " cheat " cards for each finish time, with expected time to arrive at various points around the course for a specific finish time.
I've been a bit rough recently so went to Poole to watch while Mrs Tkk ran. I got roped in to volunteer on the finish funnel, getting them to keep moving once they have crossed the line. With about 970 finishers today it does get a bit congested.

Bit of parkrun tourism today. Finished in the top 10 (out of nearly 200) set a new 5k PB and was first in my age group for the very first time.

This year’s training plan has definitely improved my fitness.

I came top ten 6th

19.16 so 10 seconds off pb - so happy with that!!

I had good form all the way around tbh but didn't push it. Now to find a flat course! Harrogate here I come!!

Mrs Legs is doing a six-week training plan which involves running for about half an hour on the treadmill (intervals/fartlek) three times a week, with a longer run on Saturdays. Every six weeks it culminates in doing a Parkrun. From having a PB of 24:06 (from January 2016), she did 23:41 after the first cycle, and 23:03 on Saturday after the second cycle. Starting the third cycle this week, eyes are set on a 22-something at Christmas time!

It's strange but somehow this sub forum doesn't alert me about new posts although I have it set to " Watch ". I've just caught up with several weeks of posts, l find them both interesting and motivating.
Meanwhile Mrs Tkk and I have entered a Half Marathon race which is on her birthday next year ( March ) it's in Saltaire and along the Leeds - Liverpool canal towpaths. Coincidentally we watched " Canal Boat Diaries " on TV last night, and the guy was at Saltaire and talked a bit about the history.

Yes indeed! I really like the ethos of the company. We had a similar setup " White Star Running " here in Dorset who put on some amazing runner focused off road events. Having done a fair few races over the decades I have accumulated a box full of medals, some hard earned. My absolute favourite is the one I got for the Giants Head Marathon, it's very high quality and quite large, with the central motif being the Cerne Abbas Giant in all his glory. Best of all is that his todger spins, just like the minute hand on a clock 😁😎
