I saw a pair of walking boots at a fantastic price and bought them. They're still in the box waiting for my old boots to finally fail.

I bought the new ones in 2016!!!

I do that, but not just shoes/boots, I do it with many things. I have to wear or use something till it's ready to drop, before I can bring out the replacement.

4 x crocs (includes two glittery "Hello Kitty" pairs)
1 x gardening shoes (an old pair of Karrimor walking shoes)
1 x dog walking boots (mountain warehouse, and they leak)
1 x leather walking boots (but can't find them)
1 x decathlon "quechua" walking shoes
1 x merrell walking shoes (my go-to and very comfy option for every day use)
1 x merell trainers
2 x cycling shoes (one each, road & MTB)
1 x kickers loafers (bought nearly 30 years ago - my one remaining pair of formal shoes)
2 x adidas "goodyear" driving shoes
1 x lightweight rubber & canvas beach slip-ons
2 x puma / sparco karting boots

Whoops!

I've noticed that most shoes are designed for people who own cars and work in offices, so they don't last very long when you walk/ride everywhere. As a result I seem to live in my S3 work boots, and generally have one pair of hiking boots for 'off duty' wear. I'm sure I have a smart pair of shoes somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

I once calculated how long I wear work boots, I think it was about 230 days a year.

A de-clutterer friend suggested five years ago to do this as an exercise to help a client organize her wardrobe.
To the eco warriors, most of these are older than 10 years, some are at least 35+ years old.

I admit to still having all the footwear from before my health took a nose dive.
So.......
2 pair of sandals, one pair from the year 2000.
2 pair of dress shoes
2 pair loafers/deck shoes
3 pair of golf shoes (2 for winter, 1 for summer).
2 pair of cycling shoes.
3 pairs of walking boots/shoes.
2 pairs of slippers.
Trainers, I think 4 pair.
There are probably some I have missed but my head is hurting now ^_^

Crocs must be the new Scholls, they don't look in the least bit comfy to me but considering how often you see medical staff wearing them they must do the job.

Very comfy; but occasionally try to kill you by tripping you up, or embarrassing you to death if you accidentally wear them out in public.

I've been known to wear mine to the shops on particularly slovenly days.

And so versatile ; I've got a "top 10 overall" segment time on Strava wearing crocs somewhere in France!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Around 4 or 5. 1 pair of shoes and the rest are trainers. I've never been one to bother much about shoes.

I gave a lot away to charity shops and sold some on Ebay because I just had too many pairs.
I have now about 15 pairs and really wear about 3 pairs.
In the winter I wear my Blundstone Boots the most, these are a rugged chelsea boots.

Mevrouw Crofted Crest has got well over 150 pairs of shoes, stored in two wardrobes, one shoe cabinet and the hall floor. She knows where and when she bought every single pair.
