Did the Transgrancanaria ultra 3 weeks ago. Classic route, so 82 miles, 20,000 feet. Incredible experience, a really wonderful event. Tough to cope with the heat of the day coming off a winter of training in UK temperatures.
If I did it again I'd probably consider the Advanced route instead, still about 50 miles but would involve a lot less time in the dark and still take in all the best bits of the route.

About 10 years ago, I did a few one-mile races in Derby, and my best time was 5:18. This morning, after a little warm-up jog, I ran a nearly-all-downhill one-mile (45m descent) as hard as I could. I think I might have eased up a touch too early, but I clocked a tantalising 5:01. Definitely some unfinished business! I'm a bit crap at running downhill, so, as well as being a good VO2/anaerobic effort, it's a good way of trying to improve my foot-slapping/heel-striking form. I'll give it another bash next Monday!
Rude 😂
I really fancy this race!
What have you got on next?
Planning to attempt the Ramsay Round this summer. Did the Bob Graham in 2022.
BG 65 miles, 26000 feet.
Ramsay 60 miles, 28000 feet.
Ramsay is quite a bit harder. Much more technical ground, more remote so less easily supported.
I do a regular loop that consists of warm up along a high st, 2 1km down hills, 2 1km flat canal intervals and a warm down steep climb back up home. 👍
Park run was slow Saturday 20:50 started at back and ran through field!!
