What really stood out for me last night other than King Joffey’s epic dash to the line was Ketty and Michael in the bunch. I think both of you guys are really straddling the line between 23 & 68 at the moment.

Bob you must be pleased with how you went too mate.

I think on flatter courses, they both merit consideration now. Maybe not so much on hillier courses.

I was bar the schoolboy error on the escalator. The main thing was i enjoyed it and we all know how important that is. Now, if i can get those other 30w back i will be even happier.

Sounds like fun last night :okay: I wasn't in the right mindset to join I'm afraid.

I'd be happy to shore up the #68 numbers or stay in CCC. What I'm not though is a @Joffey style rider - he led from the front last night (as he always does for the team), doing massive pulls, but I don't have the raw watts to do that so if Joffey went to #68 and I rode in CCC I don't think we would not be anywhere near as fast. I'm very much a wheelsucker, comfortable with the surges in pace, then sit in to recover whereas Joffey is an engine :notworthy:

For the record, my tactic last night would have been to jump on the #68/#23 train as it made the catch, then wheel surf to the line and get beaten by @mjd1988 in the sprint (for old time's sake  )

I forgot to thank @Brusgaard for helping out a depleted #68 last night. You did some big pulls to the Surrey hills making it harder for #23 to catch and easier for us to stay with them up the hill.
Be good to have Brendan back if possible given he is motoring at the moment.
Just seen his post. 7pm please^_^
I second all the above. Chapeau @Brusgaard and 7/730 please

So let me just write this down... all of #23 can do 18:30. But if we put the time slot back all the other teams get stronger.

Hmmm... Not sure we even need to bring this one to the ‘executive handicap setting committee’ do we? 😅

All jokes aside 19:00 is fine ish for me. Wouldn’t want to go later than that though.

I can make 7pm at a push too - would rather it was earlier but willing to compromise if it means we get more pwople on board ableto race. Obviously as soon as we move the race any later a couple of people will pop up to say they now definitely can't do that time though so...

Maybe we need one of those poll things that I have no idea how to do....

I propose the following, then:

19:00:00 - CCC start [ @DCLane , @Whorty , @Spartak , @steverob , @Marino.g ]
19:03:00 - 68 start time (previously +3:15) [ @Brendan Parker , @Brusgaard , @mjd1988 , @bobinski , @Ketty , @Joffey ]
19:04:00 - 23 start time (previously +1:00) [ @BurningLegs , @<Tommy> , @bridgy , @Norry1 , @peterob , @Alongo ]

This keeps the gap between 68 and 23 the same, and it was a relatively early catch last night but 68 will be strengthened by moving the start time to 7PM. Perhaps the gap between 68 and 23 should come down to 0:45?

It "only" reduces the gap between CCC and 68 by 15 seconds, when CCC won by 33 seconds last night, but #68 are going to be stronger.

Anyone have any alternative suggestions?

Also, I really enjoyed last night's format - I think it's kind of unique to have a race that's part TTT and part scratch race, and you're working for someone else in your team (although with the big pulls he did in the main race before the sprint Pete in our team might be wondering what's meant by "protected rider" ;))

If we do the same format though we will need to come up with a suitable solution for what I'm going to call "The Joffey Effect"! Brilliant as it was to see that heroic breakaway there's no point setting it up for that to happen in the same way every week is there? @Joffey your power numbers are completely different to the others in your team last night - and also the time gaps we used were based on a ZRL TTT that you didn't ride in so we'll need to adddress that somehow!

I agree with @BurningLegs that a standard mass start scratch race would also be good to do at some point. Yes I know it limits who is able to cross the line first but we all have our own group of riders who are close to us to have our own rivalries with, wherever you finish - i.e there would be races within the race.
