The guy who hacked the Sterzo, said Elite at that point hadn't protected the BLE code it was using with Zwift. He was able to snoop the data packets, load them onto his Bluetooth device to control steering with keyboard keys

I would expect that the code is now freely available on the web for others to make their own steering device.

I think we’re all still waiting for you to build one Andy! I remember a lot of big talk about 6 months ago, so I held fire on buying one

Been busy, besides others have already done something far better than my cobbled idea

You're a practical chap Tommy, have a go this weekend.

Anyone got a Tacx Neo 2T? I'm having my periodic "must buy a smart trainer/bike" and the Neo2T is my current thinking.

The GPLama and DC Rainmaker Reviews I've found are all a bit old.

What is your current setup @Norry1 ? It’s a dumb trainer and power meter isn’t it?

Don’t think you can go wrong with a neo tbh but one thing to consider is that your power profile might change one way or another when you switch from PM to Neo and you won’t have consistency between indoor/outdoor power. Don’t know if that would be a problem for you and your training/coaching?

Other manufacturers like Elite and Wahoo will read the power from your PM so no change to your power profile on the new equipment but all the benefits of a smart trainer 🙂

Yep a dumb Elite Crono and Powertap P2 pedals.

I would probably use the power from my pedals as my "output" but use the Neo to control resistance etc. That way I keep the same in and outdoors.

That will certainly work @Norry1 but do you use Zwift for ERG workouts? If so then in my experience there is a lag when Zwift uses a power meter to control resistance on a smart trainer for ERG intervals, and it’s very sensitive to changes in cadence. Some of that could be down to the specific turbo, but I don’t know how much.

Worth reading up on how the 2T performs in that scenario if you do ERG workouts (especially on Zwift).

Hi Martin, I have the Neo2. The difference to the 2T from what Ive seen are some mechanical changes, improved control for sprinting (removes slippage). More power capabilities, although not much, finer ERG control with improved coils and number of coils. That's about it.

Hi Martin, Ive found this by DC Rainmaker comparing the various Neo turbos

It does make a massive difference having a smart trainer martin. Whichever you go for, it’ll be a much more immersive experience obviously. I have a friend who wanted to buy a neo and was told a month wait at least. Don’t know if you’ve spotted one somewhere.

Yeah I’ve been looking around recently and the further up you go in price/product range, the better the availability. 2T wasn’t too difficult to get hold of 1-2 weeks ago 🙂
