Re the goodies: I think Kitten Kong, the Kung Fu parody Eccie Thump, and maybe the beanstalk ones were pretty good.

Yes - I think that formed the core of my memory of them. I don't recall what the one I watched recently was but it was terrible.

How could I forget that?!??

Not forgetting ‘Skipinder’…..

Taking some influence from it, but not a comedy (& Meera Syal was in an episode!)

For me, it's one of those programmes which is much better on the radio. I'm another who still finds it funny.

There are moments in Dads Army when John Le Mesurier and Arthur Lowe (especially le Mesurier) cook up sublime brilliance between them. But a lot of it is rubbish.

Dad's Army is another one better on the radio, at least to my mind. The whole cast are superb and it's even funnier when you realise that it's actually nothing to do with the war.

There used to be a junk yard and shop in Old Kilpatrick where we bought a few things. Run by a pair very like S & Son tho’ there was a woman in the shop.

Not sure of the exact genre, but I enjoy watching the old Worzel Gummidge series from way back, with Jon Pertwee as WG.
Comical stories, lots of guest actors hamming it up, and a nice escape from the real world.
It went awry when filming moved to New Zealand, but the UK series are a real tonic in these troubled times
