Great film - if anyone's considering watching it for the first time, I urge you to steer away from plot synopses & wiki articles until afterwards.Dead Man's Shoes - 9/10
Paddy Considine knocks it out the park as the hero in what I reckon is Shane Meadows' best film (A Room for Romeo Brass always runs it a close second). Tough, gritty, funny, killer soundtrack, all the things I love in a film. Imagine Taxi Driver set in the Midlands and you're sort of close.

I love that movie. The relationship between him & his parents ("Mama! Papa!") is one of the sweetest parent/child relationships on film, and it's full of great one-liners - "How you doing boys?" "Well, we're a little concerned about the situation in the Middle East."Breaking Away.
And this time I enjoyed itna lot more. The first time I saw this years ago, I thought it was a pile of garbage. But yesterday, expecting it to be a low-rent kinda movie, I enjoyed it.
