Also being watching The 100 - (US Sci-Fi TV Series)
Once you set aside the rather daft scientific premises its worth sticking with
I thought the pilot was a little naff but it settles down into a pretty watchable first series
I'm about halfway through series 2 and it seems to be getting better and better - has its silly moments - but also its fair share of gripping plot twists etc - hardly high end cerable fayre but very watchable and has a good pace - if you enjoyed Falling Skies then you'll probably like this

The Hunner as it's known in Casa RM is hugely entertaining. We spent most of the first few episodes playing Spot The Cliché, but it really does develop well and introduces some fairly mature themes in the second series.

I also like that it's not trying to be weird for the sake of it which it really could. Fortitude was hugely disappointing for that. Thing of beauty with an excellent soundtrack and well acted but the story just got totally stupid.

We spent most of our time boggling at how gyms and orthodontists seem to have survived the end of the world pretty well.

It's not a show I watch with a great deal of attention, but my feeling is that it has a tendency to letting the characters off the hook when it comes to the tough choices, personally. Not always, but mostly.

Vest and Furious 6 is complete and utter nonsense from start to finish. The final chase bit is supremely ridiculous. great stuff!
Excellent.

I think you'll like number 5 as well, completely preposterous.

My favourite description of the franchise;
The best way to view these movies is like a pleasantly exciting day dream where you can do amazing things all roughly within the 'laws of physics'.

We had similar thoughts. Clarke's teeth are a wonder throughout.

Went to the cinema to see Mad Max Fury Road last night with a mate. I'm a big fan of the first Mad Max film, and I like the second also. We were both in the same opinion of this film, the action was brilliant, visually and audio-wise it was awesome, but the script was really thin, it was about nothing really (a two hour chase), we just thought apart from the action it was a bit non-descript. Even though the first two films are essentially revenge/action films they have more about them than just visuals, as lets face it back then films had to, without the CGI that is available now. . You could of wrote Tom Hardy's lines on a sheet of A5 paper, as he says next to nothing. Its a film that has to be seen at the cinema, the end chase is the best action I have ever seen in a film. It is better than most remakes, but regarding the Mad Max trilogy which I'm a huge fan of, this is the third best film out of four. The film should be called Mad Charlie, as she dominates the film, Max is really a non-entity. All just in my very own humble opinion.

Battle of New York was at the end of Agents season 1, as the Hydra insurrection was all at the same time, and it was on the news.
The events of Ultron were referenced in Agents season 2 towards the end - about episode 20 I think.

Did Fridays 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' bring events up to 'Age of Ultron', as the Twins were mention (Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch, presumably)

Plus, Loki's Sceptre being located by HYDRA

Not last night, but this week we had preview tickets to see...

Man Up - Simon Peggs new film. Got to say its his best work since Hot Fuzz, nothing revolutionary but a very funny way to spend 90 minutes. 8/10

Spy - Surprisingly funny Bond-esque spoof, especially Jason Statham sending up pretty much every character he has ever played. 7/10.

Chappie - It got slated in a lot of reviews, I thought it was excellent, funny and moving. Elements of District 9 and Robocop. Its criminal the low ratings this film got on the internet.

The Dark Knight. Never seen it, and I generally avoid superhero/DC type movies, but I'd heard good things about it, including it being 'dark'. Which indeed it turned out to be. Hats off to whoever turned the rather silly comics of my youth into this bleak and gritty epic. The Joker was particularly good - a really stunning performance. I wonder who decided to ditch Robin, and why. Good decision tho'. Gets 9/10 on IMDB, and I can see why, tho' I personally wouldn't go that high. Certainly worth the watch.
I posted almost exactly the same earlier in the thread, great film, confounded a lot of my gripes adout the superhero genre.
