Black Hawk Down.

Excellently filmed retelling of a botched military kidnapping and the ensuing battle.

I had the misfortune to stumble onto a film called Titanic 2. I'm saying nothing!

I've seen that. It's one of the worst films I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot!

Highlights for me included being able to see the Long Beach skyline and shore when the boat's meant to be out at sea, the iceberg moving faster than the speed of sound and the engine scenes which have been filmed in a concrete basement somewhere. Oh yeah, and they give up caring about the iceberg half way through and are only scared of the tsunami that started the problem. Glorious.

The ship's sad face says it all:

Although it was a good film, I wont recommend it. I only saw it because not much else on. It was kinda OK but I think I wasn't quite the target audience.

True Grit. The 2010 one, not the John Wayne original.

Really good. Excellent performances, especially from the girl out to avenge her father.

Agree! Saw it in the pictures; a fine film and superior to the John Wayne version, although that's good fun, and almost makes you believe John Wayne could act (a bit).

The Dark Knight. Never seen it, and I generally avoid superhero/DC type movies, but I'd heard good things about it, including it being 'dark'. Which indeed it turned out to be. Hats off to whoever turned the rather silly comics of my youth into this bleak and gritty epic. The Joker was particularly good - a really stunning performance. I wonder who decided to ditch Robin, and why. Good decision tho'. Gets 9/10 on IMDB, and I can see why, tho' I personally wouldn't go that high. Certainly worth the watch.

Both are great. But funnily enough, tho' many would agree with your take on their relative merits, of the two it's the John Wayne version that actually stays with me. "Fill yer hands you sunuvabitch!"

Agree - but The Dark Knight Rises which followed it was pants

Just in from Mad Max: Fury Road.

9/10.

The scale of imagination and insanity is breathtaking. I'm normally wary of series that have been reincarnated, but Miller has excelled himself here. Theron and Hardy are absolutely phenomenal as the leads, both bringing a level of contained aggression and focus that carries you through the mayhem and destruction going on.

A new level for action that really deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Kingsmen: The Secret Service
I thoroughly enjoyed it - Not to be taken seriously and mostly tong in cheek - Austin Powers/Bond/Kickass sort of mix - very cheesy, but on purpose, and has more than its fair share of moments - loved the fireworks at the end!

Also being watching The 100 - (US Sci-Fi TV Series)
Once you set aside the rather daft scientific premises its worth sticking with
I thought the pilot was a little naff but it settles down into a pretty watchable first series
I'm about halfway through series 2 and it seems to be getting better and better - has its silly moments - but also its fair share of gripping plot twists etc - hardly high end cerable fayre but very watchable and has a good pace - if you enjoyed Falling Skies then you'll probably like this
