What film did you watch last night?

Okay, not a film, but seeing as it spawned (maybe the right word) a feature-film

We watched a recorded episode of Bottom too, the one where they're at the dating agency, & (the lovely) Helen Lederer was a Moldovian Countess
I think SWMBO had forgotten just how crude, brilliant, funny & crude they were

Avengers: Age of Ultron last night. Went to the 2D screening after talking to friends who felt the 3D wasn't worth it and at times all the close ups made it fuzzy. Right decision as we didn't see anything we wished had been in 3D. Someone had dumped a cup full of sticky drink over the floor at a previous showing so it was sticky like a night club floor which was annoying (it was dark, so it could have been blood I guess, but being T. Wells we presumed not.) Film was good, lots of action stuff, some plot, we liked the new characters. Continuing the strong showing from Marvel Studios. Glad we got round to seeing it in the cinema. My wife really enjoyed it, I liked it a lot, but Mad Max was better (if possibly with slightly less funny bits). Maybe slightly too many call outs to the other films that are coming, bits of the Thor plot felt a lot like teasers for the next Thor movie, less so some of the Capt America bits.

Seeing as Phil Coulson's alive (or is he?, is he a 'Life Sized Replicant'), why didn't he sneak back into this film?

Plus, chronologically, where does 'Ultron' fit?, as the 'Battle For New York' has been referred to in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' (& Jitari armour used, as a plot item, in it)

They've been, I believe, very careful to keep Coulson separate from the Avengers since he was 'resurrected' because he is the proof of the lie that Fury told them (and because then they have a really good excuse not to use any very expensive Avengers actors).

We are wondering where in the chronology it is. Battle for New York is referenced, as is Thor: Dark World in 'Agents' and the Hydra uprising is a thing so they can all be put in to the right places. I'd imagine it can be worked out (actually, I'd imagine some nerd already has and the answer is only a Google away :-) ) I get the feeling the Freeview run hasn't got there yet though. I could be wrong.

Battle of New York was at the end of Agents season 1, as the Hydra insurrection was all at the same time, and it was on the news.
The events of Ultron were referenced in Agents season 2 towards the end - about episode 20 I think.

A rockumentary about the band. I quite liked it but my wife thought it was boring. Although she can't stand Big Star, so that possibly explains it.[/QUOTE]

Didn't know about that - will track it down!

I bought a CD set of theirs recently, everything they recorded in the 70s + early stuff as solo/other bands, demos, live stuff, all very fancy. £14!!!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Hunger games. Catching fire. Not bad. Not as good as the first one though 7/10.

Avengers. Age of ultron. Excellent film. A bit darker than Avengers usually is, but excellent nonetheless. And another one is on the horizon. 8/10.

Not a film but a TV show... The New Adventures of Robin Hood. Putting Robin's, Marion's and Friar Tuck's American accents aside, they've pulled out all the stops to make this production as historically accurate as possible... and being essentially a kid's show, they've proved that learning can indeed be lots of fun. Episode one: Robin Hood vs The Mongols

Just saw Spooks at the cinema.

Pretty decent, the leads were good.
The motivation of the antagonists is somewhat inexplicable though.

7/10
