American Hustle.
The acting was great and I was really rooting for Christian Bale and his elaborate comb over.
Soundtrack amazing, can't fault the film. Proper entertainment.

Chappie....Short circuit meets RoboCop.

Beautifully filmed with superb CGI but I'm not sure a confused childlike gangsta robot with an Indian/South African accent worked

I loved Chappie. Giving a robot humanity is a tough thing to do and I reckon they nailed it. I thought it was very clever and raised a lot of interesting points about exploitation and the world in general.

Granted it is a tough thing to do, and the film overall was superb but Chappie's actual persona just didn't work for me.

Having said that I had watched Ex Machina the night before, which also deals with the subject of AI albeit on somewhat higher level - another superb film and very thought provoking.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Jack Reacher. It's been said many times that Tom Cruise as the 6'5" ex military policeman doesn't quite cut it, and they're right.

Thats what I thought. In the books you have this very large man and in the film you have wait for it.....tom cruise. Mmmm not good

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead.

A British gangster film with Clive Owen and Charlotte Rampling.

Ok enough, but has a poor ending. 5/10

I thought he was ok, he's not the most talented of actors but you don't need to be for that type of role, enjoyable nonsense. I don't think it's ever fair to compare films with the books, two totally separate things, if you're that precious about a book probably best never to see the film.

Normally I'd agree. But in the books an integral part of them is jack reachers size. ^_^

Fair enough, it's been said before that the world would be a boring place if we all agreed on everything.

Ex Machina is on my list, I might get round to it this weekend!
