Was the film in English (apart from the foreign language speakers) or did you need subtitles?

Mostly in English, but there's some subtitled Italian bits.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Expendables 2. Another outing for the golden oldies, but still good. They don't take things or themselves seriously, thank god. Lots of kabooms as usual, but not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

The Expendables is a tender love story between The Stath and Sly Stallone. The repressed longings, the poignant innuendo ("You look like a man who could handle a blade") , the hearty backslaps and fabulous scatter cushions. Ok, I made the last one up. You know after they blow up the Most Explodey Bridge in Cinema History? They share a quiet moment of clenched fists punching the air. Camp as a row of tents.

Taken, on TV last night. Can't go wrong with Liam Neeson can you ?
Relentless violence, complete lack of pity from an ex (I assume) special forces operative who's daughter is kidnapped.
Love it, fast moving, scary criminals, one man against them all.

Quite like the film myself. But if you want a comedy moment, watch the daughter run. No wonder she couldn't escape with that technique..!

The Graduate. Wonderful film. I love the camera angles they shoot at in some scenes, I've not seen that in more modern films. Really liked the music too. A very simple storyline and great to see Dustin Hoffman as a young actor.

Can't really decide if this is a good or bad movie... i'll just call 'interesting'. Worth watching for to make up your own mind

My local cinema did "Screen unseen" where you don't know what film you're seeing until it starts.

I saw Whiplash, which was about a music student trying to make it as a jazz drummer, and the cruel but driving conductor.

I really liked it, excellent performances, and I would never have gone to see it in a million years.

It even made me like jazz!

Anyone mentioned "What we do in the Shadows" yet ?

It is hilarious - Vampires meet Flight of the Conchords. One of the best films of the year.

I just watched it last night. I like war movies and thought it was very good. Extremely violent though. I thought Brad Pitt did a good job as did many of the other actors, even as hateable as some of the characters were. The story was kind of thin for me to consider it great. The violence may have been overdone, especially toward the end but it moved fast enough throughout to keep me interested up to almost the very end.
