Its not great pickings ,Event Horizon,Starship Troopers and er ...Phantom Menace ???"They should have sent a poet!"
there are a few contenders though (having perused the wiki list)... Terminator 2, City of Lost Children, 12 Monkeys, Star Trek: First Contact, Fifth Element... i might have to have a 90s sci-fi-athon and settle it.
And the bloody singing.the hobbit an unexpected journey...cinematically it was top notch, even though I enjoyed it, it was a bit long and boring in places....
I know, it is in the book, but it may well have been left there. Here's my idea of Middle-Earth Music. And the bloody singing.

Rather well done I thought.
I watched "Filth" on Netflix a ouple of nights ago. It is the film based on the book by Irvine Welsh which I read last year...very base!!
When I found out they were making it, I wasn't sure how it was possible a it's one of the most degenerate things I've ever read. I thought it was an excellent adaptation and did a good job of capturing the surreal elements in the book.
I was dubious about McAvoy as Bruce, but he was absolutely superb. Disappointed by Shirley Henderson as Bunty though - not that she didn't play the part well, I just had a completely different picture of the character, especially physically as I thought she should totally dominate Blades.
Cracking soundtrack too. I'd like to see a film of Glue in the future, it's one of my favourite's. Porno would be good too, but I think it'd struggle to get a certificate and do justice to the book.
I read the Diceman by Luke Rheinhart some years ago, sick but compelling and hilarious in places.
Filth is the only one of his books I have read, but in respect of his films I have seen Trainspotting as well. Whilst full of violence and squalor, I found Trainspotting less perverse than Filth. The characters in Trainspotting probably fit our stereotypes of small time drug dealers, users, streetwise youths and thugs, whereas the main character in Filth was seriously twisted and disturbed. I will probably try his other books at some point and prepare myself to be shocked. I know this is a film thread but whilst on the subject of shocking books for a moment, I read the Diceman by Luke Rheinhart some years ago, sick but compelling and hilarious in places.
Awesome and fascinating book, one of my favourites,
