Out on the bike today, met a pal at Turweston Flight Centre. They have a great cafe overlooking the runway. Weather was good and the Le Mans Aston Martins testing on the runway provided some interest.

What I meant was: did the person who asked your ex' have your permission/knowledge to ask her? 🙂

Or did she do it without you knowing?

And if not, what motivated them to do so?

No, quite the opposite. I asked her if she would contact the girl/ woman so she did and the girl was happy to speak to me. Turned out to be a lovely conversation.
I may never speak to her again but am just happy to know she has had a good life.

Thanks for clearing that up, sounded different in your first post hence my confusion.

Each to their own but I have never had the urge to contact people from my past especially ex's. They are ex's for a reason.
I think there is a whole thread on this in Personal Matters where a CC member wanted to know whether or not they should contact an ex' from the distant past. As ever viewpoints differed.

Glad it worked out for you. :okay:

I am the same re the past. Some of my drinking pals revel in school reunions, workplace reunions etc etc, not for me, I am a “look ahead” person. I do accept the amount ahead is diminishing, whilst the past is growing! 😊

I was just finishing a conversation with Mrs SD along the same lines. Neither of us are remotely interested in 'revisiting' our past friends, colleagues or lovers etc.

On the other hand we obviously accept that everyone is different.

Partially why these threads can be so interesting.

Yes I agree. Never been to any sort of reunion. However I do think about people I worked with in the 60s/70s and wonder what became of them eg I worked at Cadburys late 60s. A good company and a lot of nice work mates (male and female). I often wonder what they went onto do.

One I worked with hit the headlines, locally and nationally, another is doing time for multiple murder*.

*And to look at them then, you'd not expect it from them.

Morning all :hello:

I lived in Doveridge Road, must have been somewhere near you.
Yes, I just had a look at the map, Trittiford Park was a favourite haunt, used to catch sticklebacks and tadpoles there. And saw my first kingfisher on the River Cole thereabouts too. As kids the fords on the River Cole provided much entertainment, trying to cycle through them without falling off into them and watching cars come a cropper in them when in spate. Happy days !

Good evening all, MrsFoE and I joined a local chapter of the Ramblers today for a little stroll through one of the several big house estates that dot these parts. The day went well, they were a friendly bunch and we expect to join them for further outings. The sun too was out and surprisingly warm at times. We got home early afternoon just as the clouds started to gather and we’ve had heavy and very heavy showers ever since.
