Oh hang on - just remembered
by wife just asked me how to spell something
I have a degree in Chemistry and she has one in History with a chunk of English Literature as well (don;t ask - I don't know why)

and some of you might have noticed that my spelling is not all that reliable (even after using the spell checker on posts!!!)

I accidentally gave her the American version but thought it looked wrong so checked

why exactly she requires the word bureaucracy in an email is a mystery!

I used to be excellent at spelling. If I was reading something a misspelled word would almost leap off the page. My colleagues at work would ask me how to spell words if unsure ( pre internet etc ). I would close my eyes and look up and " see " the word as written. That's no longer the case as the years have taken their toll.

I had forgotten. It's the cycle club Awards Night this evening. It isn't high on my agenda but I feel I should go. We've agreed the table seating arrangements. This is because four of us don't want to discuss sprockets, chain rings and dI2 all night!! 🤣

I think the Labour party conference is in LLandudno this week end and Mrs G wants to go shopping there this afternoon.
Do we really need to go? I expect the traffic will be horrendous with security, police cars everywhere etc....

He’s probably hacked off, as am I with teacher’s pets running off to complain about some of our posts.

I really like him and even when his posts wind me up I would never report him because he takes it all very personally.
But that’s his problem in a nut shell. I’ve had more posts than most of you removed because of my centre left politics but never take it personally as this is a open forum and the rules are clear . It’s not the same as chatting at home or being on twitter ( thank god ) 😀.
I’ve been on un moderated forums and in the end everyone interesting and or caring leaves.
I for one get so much from this thread and and the forum in general that the fact some of my posts get removed is no more than a minor inconvenience and I would hope that he would come to the same conclusion .

Morning all.
It's a bit chilly out there, and has been raining, although it has stopped now.
American style pancakes with blueberries, strawberries, sliced bananas, maple syrup and squirty cream for breakfast this morning. That should keep us going for a while.
MrsP is meeting up with her ladies and going for afternoon tea at a hotel in central London so I will get out on the bike for a couple of hours.

A full house today with family and friends...... fortunately I can close the door to my flat and enjoy TV sports.
