Good morning from a wet, soggy Warrington. Rain has stopped and my ever wrong phone tells me there will be no more rain today.
Q
Did anyone get thunder yesterday ? We got one massive bang. No lightning to my knowledge, just one humongous clap of thunder.

I was driving south on the M6 near junction 27 at about 6.45pm. There was one huge lightning flash. I didn't hear any thunder but then I was in my car.

Good morning. Yep, grey and drizzly after a lot of overnight rain. Lancashire summer been and gone. I slept for eight hours straight! WOW!

Today is another allotment day; weather, my post-crash injuries and Mrs P's health meant much of the winter work didn't get done. By the end of today I should be caught up. Potatoes need to go in as well.

You know how it goes. I was making coffee and thought "we've got hot x buns in the freezer." I toasted one. I'm now rather cosy in bed with my coffee and bun. I have taken a bite.

Aaaaggghhhhh!! 😱😱 this is a crime against humanity. How could this possibly be a thing or even allowed? There should be a law introduced. Chocolate in a hot x cross bun????? Awful. Truly disgusting. Life is full of disappointments. xx(xx(xx(

I have learned my lesson. Not all hot x cross buns are what they seem. Perhaps we should start a campaign?

We need to start a campaign against all the ultra processed junk that we are being told is food!

It was so nice to get out after being cooped up indoors yesterday. 8 miles brisk walk and popped into the Co-op on the way home for some fruit and veg. My ketogenic diet is still going well. I have restricted my carbs to lower carb fruits and veg like berries, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli with some salad too. Steak and mushrooms for breakfast. I’ve dropped a couple of pounds too.

I'm with you on this one. I can feel a rant approaching so best be careful. There is so much wrong with our food and diet it's no wonder we have 25% of the population classed as obese with a forecast to hit 60% by 2050. Fix the diet and fix many, many health issues while addressing major NHS issues........but then I'm not a politician!

Love the sound of your new diet.

I’ve been binge watching some of the influencers on Youtube, many of them medical doctors who are keen on keto type diets and have had great success putting type 2 diabetes into remission. I can see why. It’s early days, but touch wood, this seems to have massively reduced my hunger and sweet tooth.

We have become a nation of carb and sugar addicts who not only eat 3 meals per day but seem to constantly snack in between too so our insulin levels never get a chance to drop.

I've never been a bloater but as I age I'm finding it harder to stop myself from porking out. Stopping snacking wasn't exactly difficult but didn't are a degree of determination.

I'm how a 2 meals a way man. Rather than breakfast I eat a light lunch at about half ten of the AM and if I'm honest that keeps me going nicely until dinner time now I've broken the snack habit.

Snacks are a problem - especially as some of the simple thing are ones I can;t eat anymore

Main problem was that I am fine eating chocolate - proper raw neat chocolate is, apparently, Gluten Free
and as I am allowed it them I can eat it - which means whenever I want

OK - not a good thing but it got me over the initial diagnosis
now I am trying to swap chocoalte to bread - wholemeal and with seeds because Gluten Free bread is terrible!
which is better

anyway - most rubbish I can;t eat anymore - so that has helped
