Looks like I am being discharged from hospital today. I've been signed off by the physio, she is happy that I can get to the toilet and in and out of bed unaided. The doctor is happy that the wound is not weeping and starting to heal up.
I have exercises to do to get the knee bending past 90⁰, and the real physio work starts in two weeks time.
Happy days.

My advice is, if they say you can go then make a run for it.

Oh, no you can't do that

I have never been badly overweight, a few kilos here and there, but I'm going to say something very un PC now. Why is it that when you see a grossly overweight person they are always eating. Gregg's sausage rolls, crisps and any other high fat, high sugar foods. Their children tend to be overweight as well, not just puppy fat but well over. Is that not a form of child abuse?
With all the information about, why are obesity rate still going up. It is quite easy to eat healthily, and with a little thought not expensive. It is just laziness on the part of a section of the population.
Medical conditions can be corrected, and now with the rush for the weight loss drugs, many people will take the drug but carry on stuffing themselves with rubbish.

I agree but as @SpokeyDokey points out much of this is for NCAP. I will restrict myself to the view the root causes are socio-economic, under funding in many areas of society and exploitation by major retailers.

and exploitation by major retailers.

And the food industry.

Have I ever mentioned the strange, virtually continuous, appearance of small kitchen items in our house...

In recent weeks; a bigger than the one we had silicone chopping 'board', an egg masher, a heavy cooking spoon trivet and now... battery powered salt & pepper grinders, have all appeared!

I think I know who is behind this expenditure...

Weight. It's a problem especially as I get older. Following my crash I've gained 5-6 kg. I'm unhappy with this to the extent I have mild body dysmorphia. I avoid mirrors, scales, select shirts carefully etc.

The reasons are simple:
  • whisky - stopped buying
  • lack of exercise - post crash and home circumstances
  • a weakness for snacks
  • whisky - still not buying it
The whisky thing is pure pleasure. I truly enjoy a glass in the evening. Most evenings. That's stopped. I don't miss it.

My PT is away for six weeks from mid-April. I'm determined to shift a lot before she returns.

Oh, aren't they magic. We have the Peugeot ones with a small searchlight that directs where you grind. The ultimate in unnecessary decadence!!

Just the kitchen?? Lucky man. Our house is full of stuff we don't need. A good friend once described it as eclectic.........she is still a good friend........just 🤣

Sadly the food industry deliberately churn out ultra processed crap with the perfect mix of carbs and fat that people can’t resist. It’s called The Bliss Point I think. Having suffered from binge eating most of my life, I truly believe that it’s similar to drug addiction and I have finally come to my senses and realised this. Better late than never. I’ve even stopped eating what I thought was healthy porridge as a few hours later I just wanted more carbs.

A plate containing mainly protein and fat with only a very small amount of low carb veg and I can feel satisfied for hours.

Congratulations Mo. You are to be applauded. I feel sure it takes will power and determination 👏👏👏

Yes, these are 'see in the dark' grinders with little spotlights.
