Got two tickets in the end. Turned out to be the turd derby: United were shoot, but we somehow managed to pull it out of the u-bend and out shoot them at the end.

Saints yet to concede again. Perhaps Russell has reminded his charges they're in danger of playing in their worst nightmare next season. Not Hell. Not Purgatory. No, worse. Fratton Park (subject to our form getting better/worse, natch).
Gary O'Neil's available…ah, wait a minute…

Most clubs who have achieved success for a long time have a "best by"date and it looks like it's coming home to roost for Man City.
Liverpool,Man Utd and Arsenal all went through these periods but mostly it's not sustainable.
Players getting old(Thirties) and the clubs not replacing these players or the players they do bring in it doesn't work out.
City bought Kalvin Phillips who sat on the bench most of the time because Pep thought he wasn't good enough but then sold Cole Palmer and Julian Alvarez.
De Bruyne,Gundugan,Silva,Walker and Foden all look shadows of their former selves.
Under the PSR rules City will find out like Newcastle that although they have wealthy owners they just cannot go out and buy who they like.
..........or maybe City can
Ironically, Forest benefitted hugely from Newcastles need to offload players. Anderson is looking like he has great promise and was instrumental in the win. Dispossessing a Villa player, seconds later ...Elangas winner.
.I think they only paid £20 million for him and even that is spread over 4 or 5 years. Absolute bargain if he continues to show promise.
Nice to see other squad members scoring as well. If there's one thing Forest are light on is strength in depth.

Imo it's time for Pep to go.
Not for the fans but for himself. Again imo but he should do a Jurgen Klopp and go with his head held high.

I agree with you but there is a difference. Klopp announced he would be leaving, gave Liverpool time to find a replacement. I imagine Klopp knew he had taken the club as far as he could.

If Pep walked today he would be accused of running out on the club. He doesn't deserve to leave under that cloud. To go with his head held high he should be saying something on the lines of "it's time for a fresh approach. I will do my best for the rest of the season and leave next summer."

I've a feeling Pep will prove to be the right man at the right time for City. Replacing him and continuing their recent dominance in England may prove impossible.

Wolves have appointed a new head coach.
Apparently he has had 10 clubs in 12 years.
He has a win rate of 51%.
Doesnt sound very promising to me.

Talk about stating the bleeding obvious.........
Kilmarnock were losing 1 - 0 at halftime. Worst headline of 2024?

"What do you think lads? Should we hit back in the second half?"

"Nah, let's just play for a defeat"

Playing to lose is what we usually do. Still I'm happy with the draw, especially as we're pulling away from the bottom of the table, and Fir Park isn't often a happy hunting ground for us.

It's also pleasing that Stuart Kettlewell is annoyed by the draw.

Hurrah! Pompey win 4-1, out of the drop zone again. Coventry seem to have shot themselves in the feet repeatedly. Given how tight most of the Championship table is (if we won the games in hand we'd be 13th!), it'll probably be a fight to the finish, but hopefully Derby was a blip. Also, Man City still being recent Man City.

A couple of weeks back I saw a user comment to the effect that 'Nunez does everything but score, Haaland does nothing but score'. I think Darwin's having more success at the moment…among City's many problems, Haaland isn't a creative forward, he's a finisher. He can touch the ball a handful of times in a match and get a hat trick- if he gets the service. With no Rodri, KDB ageing, etc…the taps have been turned off. They don't have Alvarez because they sold him. There is no Plan B (or C,D…) to get goals. OTOH, Liverpool have not just the joint-top scorer, but three able other forwards (yes, including the much maligned Nunez), and scorers all over the pitch (literally, considering Alisson and Kelleher have both been match-winners).
