So, so far today, United still the worst PL team in Manchester, Wolves have rediscovered how to score goals, Southampton can defend after all, Everton have done the neighbours a favour against Chelsea, and Spurs still being Spursy (or Liverpool being seemingly relentless).
Edit: Spurs promptly pull one back…only for Liverpool to add number three.

More managerial bollocks. Amorim:

"We control very well against one team who score 60% of their goals when the ball is in [the opponents] half."

I bet Christmas in Portugal looks like a missed opportunity. 🤣

Surely it's 100% of their goals when the ball is in the opponents half, what with that being where the goalmouth is. Maybe he is referring to a team where 40% of their goals are own goals?

Yep. I suspect Fergusson's abilities disguised and/or hid an awful lot of issues at Old Trafford. Without him the horrors of the Glazier's ownership are becoming apparent. Adding Ratcliffe, who doesn't seem to have much more about him, is, if anything, making matters worse.

We don't know what Amorim was told/promised so a small part of me feels some sympathy for him. Mainly I think he's another example of someone who thinks he's better than he is. It's so common amongst players and to a lesser extent managers.

Amorim would have been far better off staying in Portugal. The grass is rarely greener.......

The obvious in stats can get overlooked. Notts even though they got promoted had the worse defence in the National League once the amount of time the opposition had on the ball was taken into account. Hence the way they tumbled to mid table last season keepong the same defence in League 2.

Could you expand on this a little. I'm a bit of a stats sceptic and don't really follow the argument. I've watched many matches at Ewood were either Rovers or the opposition have dominated the statistical possession - mainly through tip tap passing their own half. While retaining the ball is important, dominating possession in this manner achieves little.

It was a feature of our play under Jon Dal Thomason and resulted in watching some very tedious, predictable football.

JDT was dismissed and John Eustace brought in to save the club from relegation.
