This surprises me to be honest, hadn't realised he was in that specific a role. For a unit of a defender, he really should have been better at that job!

It does re-enforce my idea that quality players do not often make good managers. Zidane maybe? Simeone? Robson was fairly useful too. Beckenbauer. Dalglish.

I'll be missing people obviously, but isn't a particularly long list.

Pep seems to be doing ok

Andy, I think the 'on field' organisational side of football
managership is 'over blown' The most important attribute of a successful manager ( imo) is man management. This is why most managers have a 'sell by' date, maybe 18 months - 3 years. Players can only hear a managers views and opinions so many times before they get 'hackneyed' There are always exceptions of course, e.g Alex Ferguson but he (with others) had the advantage of being able to constantly refresh his squads (fresh ears)

This is a good point.

I'd say Wenger too. Revolutionised English football.

I don't know much about him at all really. He didn't, to my eyes at least, look totally comfortable standing around on the pitch for the cameras with Dale handing him said burger.

He doesn't really "do" media. Not since they stitched him up (he feels) over the McStay headbutt which landed him in Bar-L.

He's a genuinely nice guy. Unless you get on the wrong side of him.

Considering he was being touted for £60 million in the summer, another potentially astute piece of business by Newcastle.

Newcastle are clearly building something here.

Accy do you fancy a ground swap.Play the game at Elland Road, give the team a day to remember,a big ground a fine stadium and great support. And all who want to see will get in.

Just spotted your post Postie! I think we'll lose about 3,4 nil today, but If we can survive to a draw I'll be coming over the Pennines for the replay! :okay: My 44 years a Leeds fan friend who I'm going to the game with, said he thinks Leeds are going to go all the way and win the damn' thing!
