The CC Trig Point bagger thread, now incorporating other interesting geographs

It's not until into the summer, but we've booked a cottage for a week
'We', being; SWMBO, daughter, her chap, myself
Plus 2 dogs, their new Rottweiler puppy (it'll be about 6 months by that time?) & Doris (our Border Terrier)
We'll be taking 2 cars too, just for flexibility
it's in North Yorkshire (historically, it'd have been the West Riding), & only a few dozen yards from the confluence of Oughtershaw Beck & Greenfields Beck, which then become the River Wharfe

I'm sure I'll see plenty of 'geographs'..............

It looks nice, plus an enclosed garden

The Secret Garden
Thornes Park
Wakefield

There are three parks, that combine to create Wakefield Park, as it's also called; Holmfield Park/Thornes Park/Clarence Park

I remember this, when it was at Kettlethorpe Hall, & have referred to it earlier in this thread

4 Bridges in sight (& 2 hidden)

Aire & Calder Navigation Canal
'Stanley Ferry'
Wakefield

1.(& 2.) The swing-bridge is a reasonably new structure, as the previous one had a fairly rotten (planked) deck, when it re-opened, the footbridge was closed
3. The grade 1 listed aquaduct can be seen. there are another 2 bridges hidden out of site, beyond 'Calder Row' (the terraces), all three span the River Calder
4. The road-bridge to Altofts is discernible in the distance (or see the aerial geograph photograph)

I rode over the 'Trash Screen Bridge', then upstream alongside the Calder, along the old railway embankment
It still has some detritus on it, from the high water levels

Boroughbridge Road/A168 (the 'old'/dual-carriageway A1)
Just north of Wetherby, via jct 46/'new' A1)

When the northbound carriageway was dug up, & turned into (quite hidden!!) cycleway/footpath/bridleway), all the spoil/planings were just mounded
As for the bridge?, why alter it, as it still does the same job!!!
