John Holmes, grandson of the Richard named on the plaque, used to run a printing works in Holmes Yard a short distance down Gillygate from there. He was a prolific local historian and reprinted a lot of old texts about the town and surrounding area.

My mum worked in X-Ray at Pinderfields for about 20 years, although she’s long retired now. It’s good to see the team still have a sense of fun.
