John Holmes, grandson of the Richard named on the plaque, used to run a printing works in Holmes Yard a short distance down Gillygate from there. He was a prolific local historian and reprinted a lot of old texts about the town and surrounding area.

1.

I was walking the Dog earlier, & cut through the graveyard, as we sometimes do
I must have taken a path that l’ve not done before (or usually in the opposite direction?) amongst the plethora of paths, & noticed a rather large gravestone
There's a blue plaque, for her on the Town Hall
