yep... Mark Knopfler... i was never a fan of Dire Straights apart from a small handful of their songs, I just love the way he plays.

When people ask who my guitar hero is I say Ralph McTell. He isn't really because there are far better players who's music I'm in awe of... but listening to someone like Ralph McTell makes me want to pick up a guitar. His playing is easy on the ear yet challenging on the neck (for me) and its the sort of the music that can sit in the background whilst your friends chat amongst themselves.

That'll be because you don't have the diagrams with dots that show you where to put your fingers on the frets.

Always loved the way Ralph McTell played the old rags. IMHO he does them as well as anyone - much smoother than many in fact.

It's perhaps the most beautiful man made objective ever laid eyes on.

Went for the S model, as McCartney had the 4001S and I want to actually play it rather than just look at it.
