Or ask Jerry Reed, or Brian Setzer?
Or Martin Barre or Mark Knopfler.

Steve Vai is a spectacular player but his own music doesn't tickle me in the least.
When people ask who my guitar hero is I say Ralph McTell.
When I heard it, it was Eric Clapton and Jan Akkerman. That’s the one I was trying to think of, remembered it was Hendrix, but couldn’t recall who he said to be asked
That'll be because you don't have the diagrams with dots that show you where to put your fingers on the frets.yep... Mark Knopfler... i was never a fan of Dire Straights apart from a small handful of their songs, I just love the way he plays.
When people ask who my guitar hero is I say Ralph McTell. He isn't really because there are far better players who's music I'm in awe of... but listening to someone like Ralph McTell makes me want to pick up a guitar. His playing is easy on the ear yet challenging on the neck (for me) and its the sort of the music that can sit in the background whilst your friends chat amongst themselves.
Email from PMT. My new Rickenbacker has landed with them, has been checked over is due ith me tomorrow.
Being a Beatles man it had to be Fireglo.
