Thinking I should use the Telecaster more. Here I am fooling with a few Charlie Christian licks, trying to get them into my toolbox.
It's a MiM 72 Custom Reissue, as played by Mick Green and Keef (the original, that is, not mine). Plugged straight into my laptop here, so this is the sound of only the guitar, a touch of reverb, nowt else. Neck pickup.

I've often wondered how the manufacturers that make Les Paul* copies get around the copyright infringement. Do they pay a licence to Gibson**, or just deviate slightly from the original design?

I don't mind the whole-US-flag-american-eagle painjob. Hell, I have a motorbike with that paint scheme, but the political message puts me off.

Still, I'm sure they'll sell well and will quickly appreciate in value.

Unlike Rickenbacker, they never went to great lengths to copyright the shape, silhouette or profile.

Fender are clever though. The cheap copies don't affect the Fender market, but the good quality ones might so they often hire the manufacturers to make Fenders or Squiers. The factories need little or no retooling, the companies make money and Fender get a kickback on each one.

so Gibson's cease & desist is pretty much nothing more than an expensive thumbs down emoji? 👎

I've been cooking up a 'no velcro' pedal board for a lefty. Coming along quite nicely...

Pretty much finished now... just need to make a little quick release doofer to dock and lock the vol/wah onto the board when it's not in use

In chain order it's Volume/Wahwah, Compressor, Overdrive, Delay, Reverb, Sustain, Looper

And the underside...

Now the procrastination is over, i should get on with the guitar I was supposed to build this year.
