OK, if we want to do a Handicap Chain Gang tomorrow, I suggest we do the PE stage from last month (30 minutes to an hour) and use a 90% handicap to give the poor buggers starting at the back a chance to catch the early starters (who have a much better chance of improving their times. I think the session will be more fun if the starts are close enough to make sure people close up together towards the end, but not so close as to make it obvious the fast boys will always come out on top.

So how about ...

We need to be fairly sure about the first person off, so the handicaps can be based on them, or I'll start the session in their place and quit once one or two others are under way, and rejoin in my proper place.

Can people please indicate if they are a definite yes, no or a maybe, for either Thursday and/or Saturday, and if anyone who didn't do it last time would like to, I'll work out a handicap some how.

Pretty sure this should result in around 10 people finishing within a minute or so of each other ...
Geoff. Happy to have a 100% handicap on this as I have increased in power since plus was I pushed back in time on this knew originally for the realtour compensation. Maybe more even?

Dont think i've seen a button to convert to 3D. I've uploaded a couple of routes that weren't converted to 3D and one which I used Bkool's app on the phone to record the ride with which seemed to be instantly converted. (That was a mouthfull)

If you find it let me know.
Can only imagine it was beginner's luck, then.......I pressed something and it was instantly 3D.

OK (but I had reverted to your non-adjusted time already),100% changes you from 14:42 to 16:20, or would you want to start further back?

No problem with anyone wanting a greater handicap to give themselves more of a challenge, just let me know what to increase it to.

I'll tweak handicaps after Thursday's ride for those doing Saturday's as well, to tighten things up as much as possible.

EDIT: If we get it right, there should be a big bunch sprint at the finish, as it will be hard to drop someone you have only just caught if they sit in your draft and sprint for the line. Could be fun!

Bob, that's great, have you done the pe course?

I see you're Active 3 and around 3.4 Watts/Kg.

How about just ahead of me and just behind Blueface? Do you think halfway between us at 15:35 should be about right?

Geoff
GeoffI have not done that ride .I jumped from amateur 7 to active 3 with my bail out ride the other night so not sure it's representative but happy to drop in wherever you place me.

Wife is off to Abu Dhabi on a extended weekend trip, leaving me alone with the kids, but I have a cunning plan: I'll try to set up Bkool on our living room media center, and have the kids cheer on dad.
So thats a maybe for tommorow.
If I make it I'll just start the same time as Bill. Hopefully I will be able to stay with him for a few minutes before he dissapears.

Geoff. I should be there both nights. And I think the 90% handicap is a good idea because as Kip says, we'll still have our work cut-out for us. Hope we're all close at the end for a mega finish.

BIG NEWS: Decided that Bkool is the way forwards for home training and have ordered a Bkool Pro. As of next week the playing field will be even again. :okay:

I'm hopefully in for tomorrow evening, although I'm supposed to be winding down for this weekends Tri, and I've just done 40 mile now! If kids are behaving, and the ride is compliant, I'm sure I won't be able to watch people go, and not get involved.

And Thankyou for organising this one Geoff, time is such a precious commodity in our house with two little ones and a wife training for an Ironman. Work is a break for me!

No problem, it'll save me thinking of one session a month, we'll just repeat a good one from the previous month and run it as a handicap!
