Just checked, I have my weight set at 81kg on BKool, and I am actually 79kg. I haven't looked at my weight in weeks, so I will check again in a week, and see if I am settled at that weight before tweaking anything on the BSim.
So a bit fatter than you actually Kipster! Stuck between a rock and a hard place now, as ideally I would like to be about 85kg, but not for the Turbo.....the dilemna is, do I stay looking like vegan Moby and get up virtual hills quicker, or tuck into a few pies, look healthier and hand Bill a bigger lead?

Go for strength rather than weight loss I reckon. I was down at 72kg a year or so back but I can ride much faster now at 76kg. There must be some kind of workout routine that would maximise our fitness and strength. If I knew what it was I'd give it a go rather than just using my gut feeling which is what I do at the moment. I've never even tried interval training.
Anyway, whatever it takes to avoid handing me a bigger lead, I say go for it. Mind you, you are steadily closing the gap and have been for some time.

To be honest, ability to menatally push yourself is actually the greatest gain

Now that I can do! No shortage of sheer bloody mindedness. I think my competitive streak is the most useful attribute I bring to the BKool. It's what gets me back on it, even when my legs are screaming "NOOOOO!"

Having to move the bkool to the garage, my daughter is coming home from uni soon and I need to let her have her bedroom back. Workbench built, garage reorganised and network cabling done but need a longer electrical extension before it is all complete. Hope to have it all done for tomorrow when I plan a Alpe d'Huez ride.

Rick, next time you are on the trainer please can you try and pedal down http://www.bkool.com/bkoolSessionHistory/showSessionSummary/1113688 at 5 mph and 10 mph and see if it will let you.

Only need to do it for a few minutes, to the -10% bit perhaps.

If you could save the session I'll compare it with mine, then chase Bkool to prioritise the issue.

Thanks,

Geoff

Will do Geoff. Will have that sorted tomorrow evening.

Thanks for doing that Rick, I see you got the benefit of gravity!

Over 50 mph at 2 Watts, that's over 50 mph faster than me ...

I'll be on to Bkool first thing in the morning ... :banghead:

Anyone else with a KICKR care to try it?

Thanks again,

Geoff

EDIT: Just emailed them, we'll see what they have to say tomorrow, hopefully!

P.S. I love the comparison of Watts and Speed
Your Average in motion 4.5 Watts = average 62.2 Km/h
My Average in motion 46.9 Watts = average 14.8 Km/h

Comical isnt it!?? Makes a mockery of them saying they dont fully support ANY other trainer. Apart from the lack of power uphills mine works perfectly on Bkool.

Electrics cabled as much as I can, new extension lead on order. Until it arrives I'll need to decide on fan or radio, although I can stream radio through the laptop. All good for a ride tomorrow, aiming for sub 1 hour (59 minutes 55 seconds) for a pb.

and with this in mind, I just recorded 1:28:12 on Alpe d'Huez, which for me I was really pleased to get under 1hr 30mins! :okay:
Well played Paul. I am quite sure an hour and a half slog up that God Forsaken hill was pretty punishing. But the good news is, you now have an entry time into the handicap race, which means you get to do it again. Only this time you know the way!
