Hi there, new to Forum and to Bkool. I'm a regular rider and have used Sufferfest and Trainerroad over the last few years but thought I'd dip into the world of bkool with the 2015 pro model.

I've read the dc rainmaker review and trawled the net for info and came across this group. Because of the updates it seems the best people to talk to are users, not reviews, I'd like to start doing some of the online races but to start if anyone could answer the few questions I have it would be greatly appreciated.

How do you create a 3d video from a personal (Garmin connect download) gpx ride?

Does a bkool climb, say ventoux, log to strava as if it were real? Or is that just uploaded gpx files.

I have a Virb so video creation seems pretty straight forward.

Many thanks in advance

Im fairly new to it myself. The website can be a bit confusing especially the leagues etc but once you work it out its pretty cool. Loads of help of people on here will see you right.

Best advice I've had off here is buy a usb extension lead I got mine off amazon for about £8 delivered. Sit the ant+ sensor as close to the bkool as possible. Any little issues I was experiencing disappeared after doing this

Brilliant, thanks for the info!

Good tip for the USB extension, I'm currently using an iPad air in a tacx iPad holder so hopefully it is close enough, though that's as I travel in the week and always have a bike and trainer with me.

Everything has synced and I logged a quick spin which all worked and uploaded well. I plan to put the first proper session in Monday night.

If you change the activity to a 'Workout' you keep the map and elevations but not the segment times. I log all of mine as Workouts.

Nice, but one problem with logging it as a Workout is you don't get the Premium Analysis features like Power Curve, Zone Distribution, etc. You have to edit it back to Ride for that!

I didn't know that, I don't have Strava premium, just the free version, thanks for the heads up.

Lol! You were gaining on me all the time Bill! That is an ideal distance and incline for me. I was just starting to burn out. Another mile or so and you'd have 'sonic boomed' me Bill.

Join us for a gentle meander up Haytor Vale in about an hour?
Bill, Kipster, Adam, Camerauk, etc. are renowned for their gentle approach to a climb!

Reckon I'll try and input it this weekend. 4 or 5 rides. Biggest problem for me is the difficulty in locating chosen rides in the search when setting up the league. Some don't show up and it's a case of moving onto the next choice.

So what kind of rides do we want? Alpe d' Huez type rides or Mont Ventoux/Col de la Madeleine type rides or a mix of both?

Or you just want to leave it up to me ?

As Darryn has suggested one I'm going to try and make that the first stage.

Here's a couple of good longer climbs-
Somport
Portalet
- this looks a tough one?!
Puerto Mijares
Colle del Moncenisio
- only for the real die hards I think, but even if you stop half way you can save your attempt im guessing 2h,30 for this?
Col de la Madeleine
Col du Galibier

Then there are the shorter ones that you could do 2 in one session?

I bought my Bkool Pro just before Christmas. It has been great while we have had ice on the roads and my regular Saturday morning group rides have been cancelled.

Interesting tips on this thread on linking to Strava. Has anyone found a good way of linking to Garmin Connect? All I have managed is to export the GPX from Strava but it seem to loose the power data in the process.

And there was me thinking you were just playing with me towards the end Adam. I was flat out all the way too. A very familiar pattern between me and Geoff though.

I have an idea for next week if anyone is up for it:

The first Goats 2 stage is 3d Alpe d'Huez so we could all try to meet there for some fun and games, either mid week or weekend, and of course it'll be open for doing any time as usual during the weeks duration.
