I will be lead by my elders! I trust you implicitly Bill! I don't necessarily enjoy what you choose, but I know I benefit from doing it, and appreciate it about 5 minutes after completing it. If you didn't select it, I would never do it, so I'm just really grateful for both yours and Geoff's input.....thankyou.

So who's up for a Saturday 5:00pm group ride up Haytor?

Please let me know if you are planning to join us.

Cheers,

Geoff

I'm out this weekend, got a whiskey tasting session to attend :-)

Reckon I'll try and input it this weekend. 4 or 5 rides. Biggest problem for me is the difficulty in locating chosen rides in the search when setting up the league. Some don't show up and it's a case of moving onto the next choice.

So what kind of rides do we want? Alpe d' Huez type rides or Mont Ventoux/Col de la Madeleine type rides or a mix of both?

Or you just want to leave it up to me ?

As Darryn has suggested one I'm going to try and make that the first stage.

I'm easy, alp de huez takes me about an hour, I could do longer ones as long as they are active over the weekend

I was thinking that we always compare to or mention the alpe d huez, we could always make the first ride of the league rides the duez, then a mix of rides as normal thereafter, we could see how we are improving on the same climb and against each other, like having a benchmark ride. Learn the climb etc.

Thick ice on the car this morning, along with slippery pavements and iced over puddles, keep me on the turbo yet again. I will get out on the roads sometime but not today. I came off on ice a couple of times last year and it hurt. I may join at 5pm, it depends how I feel after the turbo rides this morning.

Hi there, new to Forum and to Bkool. I'm a regular rider and have used Sufferfest and Trainerroad over the last few years but thought I'd dip into the world of bkool with the 2015 pro model.

I've read the dc rainmaker review and trawled the net for info and came across this group. Because of the updates it seems the best people to talk to are users, not reviews, I'd like to start doing some of the online races but to start if anyone could answer the few questions I have it would be greatly appreciated.

How do you create a 3d video from a personal (Garmin connect download) gpx ride?

Does a bkool climb, say ventoux, log to strava as if it were real? Or is that just uploaded gpx files.

I have a Virb so video creation seems pretty straight forward.

Many thanks in advance

Hello mate and welcome, you don't create the 3D Bkool do that in their own time and they will also do the video of the file as well.

Strava rides depend on how you log them, if you log it as a ride it will show with the map and all the elevations but if you log it as a 'Stationary trainer' then you do not get all the info, just the basics with no map etc.

If I don't get KOM's I log it as a ride so I can use the millage towards badges etc, BUT if I do get KOM's I log it as Stationary trainer so's not to take anyone's well earned KOM's and segments in real life, other people log them all as Trainer rides so It's a personal thing really.

If you change the activity to a 'Workout' you keep the map and elevations but not the segment times. I log all of mine as Workouts.

A warm up, Pla de Beret, a veldorome sprint and a final 11km dash, nothing in my legs all morning, really struggled on all rides. Still 1 hour 42 minutes on the turbo this morning makes up a bit for wimping out on the club ride because of the ice.
