I can't imagine how utterly horrible that must be... worst mine got was 90 mins for 20-odd miles and that made me want to kill myself and everyone around me

It's a bit shoot.

Ride, off road, with old MTB is 45 mins door to door, no delays....

People do it, my wife did it as well. That's why I cycle to work as it keeps me sane. The work reaction is the usual stuff about cycling.....(we are an active commuter employer... erm... )

Only made a bit easier than the gods aligned (as they do) and I was planning a change of personal vehicle after 22 years - big saloon to a van. Van is an auto, so my knackered leg isn't needed. Bonus

Frosty ride today, colder than expected, but without wind not too bad. pretty. Surprisingly high number of other cyclists about, yesterday didn't see many at all.

Yeah, right. I understand that it's ingrained into the national mindset to endure this misery on a daily basis in the pursuit of consumptive trinkets... but it near-destroyed me.

Sadly I think a lot of people just buy into the herd mindset and choose to reject or deride anything that challenges the narrative they've unquestionably accepted.

I genuinely think my commute has given me some sort of budget PTSD as any degree of traffic now still provokes a significant negative reaction.

Fingers' crossed for a swift recovery and return to two wheels
