I think @skudupnorth is winning this thread so far - great work :becool:

My journey home was the usual fare; left the office chilly and knackered, froze for the first mile but after that was generally OK temperature-wise.

In stark contrast to the bright optimism of the journey in, the ride out only offers darkness and the threat of lower-still temperatures - will be very glad when it's at least light again at knocking-off time.

Not a lot going on, traffic was heavy on the Cowley rd, usual peds not paying attention in the city centre. Was glad to get back to the car and get home - now on the beers with impunity from having to do owt else constructive today; other than having a shower when I can summon the energy in the hopes of regaining feeling in my feet. And being able to redescover my inverted mushroom; not that I have much of a use for it currently..

Thankyou, hopefully the rutted snow won’t freeze tomorrow 😩

Not commuting this week as I'm using up my holiday entitlement. The roads wouldn't have been a problem as it's nice & dry, but I'm not missing the -2°C morning commute temperatures - it's cold enough as it is when I do go out at midday.

Cold one. Loght rain/snow overnight meant it was perfect ice tyre condition. Add in freezing pea soup fog, today was interesting. Couldn't see more than 10-20m in front of me in places. Just glad I have a dipped headlight as the 'big one' was useless and just bounced light back. Hit a large branch on the ground due to visibility and had a few twitches from the wheels going over ruts.

Suburbs at least the fog wasn't freezing. Kept well off the slushy ice on the cycle paths, but the roads had too many car drivers getting in the way today - why can't they stick to the motorways

Cold, colder than last week- but feels better without the north wind (it's still coming from that direction, just not so quickly!), plus I've probably acclimatized.

Good effort for getting out in it!

I struggled again this morning; leaving the house late and enduring more than my Recommended Daily Allowance of dickheads on the drive in.

Arguably slightly warmer than yesterday; overcast with no glorious sunrise today. Smashed it in partially out of necessity, partially as a result of the pent-up aggression from the drive in.

No trancendential joy today but I could feel the stress and anger melting away as I rode. I passed some school traffic on the tow path but they were on bikes and evidently more sensible and observant than those on foot. As always I did my best to be polite and civil to those encountered; some reciprocated, which was nice.

A few things made me smile coming through the city centre - a fellow Brompton owner evidently being interrogated as to the operation of his bike by a member of the public (we should get commission tbh); a bloke executing a magnificent track stand at the lights, various commuters on nice old steel..

Once more slightly late to work, but cumulatively probably less-so than were I still taking the car, and no doubt in an infinitely better mood..

Coldest one for me for a couple of years, -3 I think. A very fine dusting of crunchy snow where we live. I took the eMTB as I've got no ice tyres so the bike with 2.6" knobblies was the choice. The road section was ok apart from the side road I took to bypass the big queue; not gritted so super careful down there. Only 1 motorknob today, the rest were pretty decent. I took it very steady on the cycle/shared path section. The white frost was ok but I could see the odd small ice patch and frozen puddle.
