Horrible ride home. All going well until about KM from home I was in a shared path and I heard someone running behind me, I turned to see some disheveled block in a Christmas jumper running after me and as he got in arms reach lunged to push me. Luckily as I had seen him I sped up and he only gave me a gentle push which I managed to ride through.
If I had not I suspect he would have pushed me into the incoming 40mph heavy traffic.
Anyway he gave up and I rode home, logged it with the Police online. I'll keep my eyes peeled next time near there and give myself enough time to deal with it a little better.
Man, that does sound like a horrible experience - appears that he might benefit from a good slap (or probably some mental health care)
Out the door a shade earlier today; hard to get started again but bag already packed. Traffic wasn't as bad as yesterday, got to Yarnton about ten minutes earlier.
Again, my coldest yet at allegedly -1 and it felt like it. More frost on the ground but dry so thankfully no obvious ice. Another fantastic clear dawn; quite a few people on the tow path including the usual ignorant parents on the school run; although thankfully I passed through them fairly quickly with little incident.
A bit later I had to brake to a dead stop to avoid a head-on with a toddler who darted out from behind his inattentive dad coming in the other direction, however I'd anticipated this so had slowed right down and was covering the brakes so it was no big thing.
Through town, bit late but stopped for sausages. Got a real rush riding up the high street, trolled some roadies away from the lights by slowly overtaking everyone while sitting bolt upright / at a nice leisurely cadance. Really happy to be out today but struggling to keep warm now I'm at the office.
Sausages have been consumed but I'm trying to resist yesterday's discounted New York Deli sandwich in the fridge in an effort to force my body to burn some sodding fat as that's a habit it desperatedly needs to become re-acquinted with.
Despite the adversity a fantastic ride - not just a less-sh*t alternative to the hateful car journey; genuinely enjoyable and life-affirming in its own right
Not much opportunity for photos given the lateness and need to remove gloves, but I managed to snatch a few..
