Elswick day today, such a fun little bike to ride. The Salford Council lads were out on the Roe Green today and I stopped to thank them for the amazing work they do keeping it clear. What made me laugh was he asked where is my usual bike 😆 I just said I was giving my classic a run out for a change

Burnt some karma points today. Came off the FLoop at my usual junction to find my road into the city centre was closed in my direction while they scrapped all the tarmac off the oncoming side. As it was wide and empty I rode up the pavement for a while rather than retrace to the nearest alternative option. Hadn't quite realised how long the stretch was. I feel it was a less bad option than continuing to ride against the traffic flow which I saw 2 people doing!

Steady eddy today - little stiff from 16 hours on the bike over the weekend riding the Pennine Bridleway. I had a good 7 days solid on the bike last week, 24 hours or so riding. Just damp this am, and the commuted MTB felt tiny compared to the Full Suspension I was riding all weekend.

Was a bit horrible yesterday AM, I used my Poncho for the first time. It will be perfect for my shorter or when I am caught short, but i think i would rather just get changed when I get to the office on a day-to-day basis on the longer commute.

There's not much to write home about on my AM commute it was the fastest on that hilly route but with a laptop its not that fast. The only thing I can note is the road were empty, the Varia recons in 12.5miles I was overtaken by just 37vehicles (and 13 of them were on the Stevenage cycle tracks next to, and not actually on the road). Slightly annoyingly with the empty roads overtaking drivers seem to take more risks.

The PM was a bit more notable as it was a Nasty Cold Christmas (in August )

Very soggy commute this am. Got 'flagged down' by a dog owner in the local park this morning. It was the 'friend' of the dog that attacked me. She apologised for the dog, and also herself as she was the one being nasty (threatened me). She also thanked me for stopping and allowing her to say sorry. I explained the two recent dog attacks I'd seen so she understood. She was visibly shaking. Parted on very good terms and told her not to get too wet.

Got to work, and discovered some naughty birdy had poop bombed my waterproofs on the way in.

Just missed the rain this morning. Roads where wet but remained dry.. just about. Spots of moisture in teh air and it was very muggy.
Raining heavy now and it looks like it will be raining for the rest of the day with a storm coming though about home going time.
