Awesome day (until a p*ncture on haverstock hill

).

Loved the speedy lap of Regents park (couldn't quite catch Simon, Zimmers and the time trialist - must try harder!) and the slightly less speedy lap of Richmond park (bloody cars!). Sitting in the sun in Richmond was lovely, although I am a tad sun burnt! Just under 40 miles all in.

Roll on Whitstable!

Good to meet you all today guys. Didn't realise we were racing around regent park I'd of put it up to my second chainring ( he says jokingly)

I'm sure Ian will be putting up some pics of the bike porn from the cycle show later also. He fell in love with pinarello stand only to fickly move to de rosa. But the waterproof socks and carbon bra things really took his eye.

fickle is our Ian with those bikes!! I'd be quite scared if he turned up on a ride in a carbon bra!

That was lovely! Not sure where the summer weather came from but what a treat. Richmond Park was beautiful and Regents Park equally so but without the deer. It was also quite bizaar to be able to stand up on pedals...! Cant believe how much fun it is to be on these Sunday Rides. Very grateful too that we didnt go on the Westway...!

Although I dont have many pics from today (two I think!) I do have some from previous Sunday Rides and if there is a recommended "download to resize images" that would be great and I will put them up (they currently only fit on a screen at your local Odeon!)

Thank you for a great day - I feel like I have been on holiday! R

What a great day for a ride. I couldn't believe how warm it was.

is an understatement.

This week was my turn to be the late arrivee and I think this was our biggest turn out yet. These Sunday rides are really catching on.

It was good to give the legs a stretch after escorting my flatmate to the cycle show yesterday at a mind blowing 9 mph. So the chance to blast around Regents Park was very welcome. Even though I turned up a sweaty mess after leaving late and getting diverted around Earls Court on the way.

After escorting the Ian, Abs and Karlos to the cycle show, it was too nice a day to go straight home, so another blast around Richmond Park was called for. Well it would have been a blast but it felt more like a mid week commute with what seemed like hundreds of cars queuing to get into an already full car park. You have to feel sorry for them sometimes, it was far too good a day to be stuck in a traffic jam in a metal box

I'm not sure it was the socks Ian was looking at

The De Rosa stand also caught my eye

Cracking day. Got a few shots of the group and very much enjoyed the lap of Regent's Park. Damn those light jumping carbon bike time trialists. The cycle show was great. Lots and lots of bike porn. Rode a turbo mounted Pinnarello to play with the electronic gearing, the Dura-Ace DI2. Extreemly impressed with how it shifted but with no manual option you're stuffed when the batteries go flat. The Eddy Merckx EMX-7 anniversary edition was amazingly light and quite beautiful. Celebrating 525 victories with each race win recorded on the deep v of the carbon wheels. A little rich for my blood at £13,000. Bike of the show for me though was the gorgeous Colnago Master with it's exquisite chroming and utterly stunning lug work.

I think there were 15 of us - although we South Londoners departed early to fulfill the responsibilities of our middle years...

A gentle amble up to Regents Park and then a swift circuit enlivened by a game of tag with a timetrialist. And then coffee at the sausage place in the centre of the park, looking over West London, with the sunshine breaking through. A lovely way to spend a morning.

Blimey 15 !

Great ride, great turn out, great to meet lots of people and great to see the sun out again. Just shy of 40 miles for me today !
