Nope, pulled the plug completely. It's not happening, neither is tomorrow's penultimate prom.

I haven't watched my TV since the 2nd of November 2019, when England sadly lost to South Africa in the Rugby World Cup Final. This news of the BBC's further demise in standards means I'll be taking the thing to a charity shop asap!🧐

I've watched Last Night...on my laptop for a few years now.

I was tempted earlier to fly my Union flag, last flown during the Platinum Jubilee, as a mark of respect, but maybe it'd look chintzy and not quite in keeping with the moment.🤔

RIP Your Majesty.

The last link to an Empire where the sun did not set. 15 Prime Ministers with Churchill being the first and Truss the last.

70 years of service with one momentous public divide with her Government. Her stand with Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the rest of the Commonwealth on South Africa Apartheid sanctions which Thatcher opposed.

A memorable and sometimes painful innings and we continue to learn that we can choose our friends but not our family.

Needs to be at half mast if you do.

I’m surprised by last night of the proms.
It would be quite simple for a professional orchestra to remove a lot of the upbeat stuff and replace it with a bit of stuff like Nimrod.

Radio 2 is still on but with a more somber/tasteful music selection. So, as you say, it surely could be done for the proms (only my opinion of course).

Watching the TV talking about the Queen has made me remember about getting the saving stamps at infants school . Prince Charles stamps were 6d and blue and Princess Anne ones were 3d and green . I seem to remember only getting them in the first year .

Operation Unicorn, with her death being in Scotland.

Edinburgh Waverley, for the train down to London.
Yes, Unicorn is the Scotland-specific arrangements (given that there was always going to be around a 25% chance that her death would occur at Balmoral).

Once the Edinburgh part of the formalities is over and her body taken to London, Operation London Bridge takes over.
