Anyway - I think we CC'ers should form the CC Peloton; if we all have our jerseys on we'll make an impressive - or should that be terrifying ? - sight (so long as we all suck in our stomachs if there are photographers about)
Last year, there was a photographer not long after the start in the streets of Glasgow (though I never saw him/her - it was too wet and I was trying to work out why my computer wasn't working GRRRR ) and another (automated?) at the finish. So no need to "suck in" for too long

Has anyone received a confirmation from Cycling Scotland? When I registered I got conformation from Worldpay but nothing from Cycling Scotland. Thought I'd better make sure I am actually registered!

I got an email confirmation of my "Pedal For Scotland appliaction", I had to fish it out of the spam filter (I don't think it liked the spelling)...

Ahhh, but isn't his good lady going to be making him ride at a more sedate pace, so that she has some company ?

That sounds a wee bit dangerous, if we suck in our stomachs if there are photographers about it might cause the wind direction to change...

On the other hand, I used to get told as a child that if the wind changed direction when I was pulling a face, it'd get stuck like that. Sounds like a good way to get a permanently flat stomach ! I'd probably put up with the sudden headwind for that improvement

I forgot about the gale it would cause when we all breathed out again, it would have to be synchronised...

Aye but then, if synchronised at the same time as all turned to look back - jet propulsion ! ;)

.... and a larger gap to the following pack !

That link isn't to a thread !

The only other additional names I could pick out of this long and winding thread are Melvil & HlaB. I just thought a quick post by everyone planning on turning out for the CC Team would be a good idea. And Davyo asked first, so blame him...

We'll be taking part. Only reason I think we might go at a different speed to the CC peloton is that you're all regular cyclists - Mrs T isn't at all. We'll be going at her speed. But we do start at the same time as you so we will see you.

And I'll have to arrange with the big fella to get the bike back off him at the end too.

In the space of two weeks one of our bikes has had an accident (would you believe it blew over in the wind and bent a Reynolds 531 frame!!!!) and the other one has been stolen :-))) Grrrrrrrr. So hopefully assuming I get a new bike I'll still be up for it. Have had email confirmation of registration from PfS but nothing through the door.

Ahh so the key thing to arrange in advance is which pub we will all end up in...

any suggestions??

Anyone know of any in the vicinity of Victoria Park, where it'll be safe to leave a lot of bikes without coming out afterwards to find they've gone ?

Or do we have to have a 5 min ride along to Leith and the myriad of fine watering holes on/around the Shore ?

I've arranged to have my bike shipped back to Glasgow at the end, so I am not sure I can stay in Edinburgh long for beers. How does the bike transport thing work? Where would I pick it up in Glasgow and how long do I have to pick it up?
