Hey Guys,
Before the pedal thing gets out of hand, I think I have some cheapo (OK - Lidl ) pedls which I could let you use for the 50 miles, if you so wish. They are spd on one side and flat on t'other and would do fine on an MTB.

Let me know

Thanks, scoosh! If you're happy to lend them to me/us, I'll be most grateful! ;) They'll fit my shoes, too.

We have tools in Scotland. It's not Wales you know! ;0) I think that if you bring your pedals 'someone' will manage to nail them to the bike for you.

So I've heard!

Thing is, there are already enough people doing me favours; all I'm doing is taking part in a CC/charity ride in Scotland. Now I'll have my own team of mechanics!

It'll be an expensive night in the pub afterwards!

Too late. Even 'hinting' that you might be prepared to buy more than one drink is considered a legally binding contract in Scotland! The people you're meeting with are phoning their relatives now...

The heap has toe straps at the minute and I don't have any spare SPDs.

Goo, the wife and I will be chauffeured to the start line by my old man, like the pros we are. But I will have my CC jersey on.

I'd love to hit the boozer afterwards but will have to skulk home to deal with the kids I'm afraid. Especially since the Mrs is doing the ride too and is, not as keen on cycling as me shall we say! Unless... how long are you planning to be over for Dayvo? See, ah cannae deny ma heritage!

Tet! scoosh has a pair of lidl pedals he said he'd be willing to lend me (my shoes will fit them - if that's OK with you. Just a quick turn of the spanner . . . !)

I'm due to arrive about 16.30 on the Saturday and plan to leave early Monday morning! Long enough for a LARGE brandy and a few beers cakestop somewhere. Have to warm-down after the event, too; that's important, is that! ;)

Has anyone received a confirmation from Cycling Scotland? When I registered I got conformation from Worldpay but nothing from Cycling Scotland. Thought I'd better make sure I am actually registered!

I've yet to recieve any confirmation of participation, although I assume that if they've happily taken the money from me, then that's as good as any 'welcome along' as I can think of:tongue:!

Thats fine. On the website it says you should receive confirmation from both Worldpay and Cycle Scotland. I expect that it isn't a problem, especially as I am not alone.

Dayvo, Could you either PM or e-mail me details of your flights so that I can be sure I can collect you from the airport.

Thank goodness the weather improves in September.....:evil:xx(

No confirmation either, though I did get get a set of "why not register for this year's event ?" forms for PFS and some other charity half-marathon thing on Friday through the post because I "was a past participant in Pedal For Scotland, and might be interested in doing it this year for the 10th Anniversary".

I've never done either PFS or the charity half-marathon before in my puff !!

Hopefully they're not having the same computer problems as the Fringe.

I got that stuff as well. Good, that probably means I am registered!

Does it mean that they want you to register and just 'happen' to have your name/address ?
... or that you booked some Fringe tickets ??? ;)

Or that the council sold my details from the electoral register to the direct marketeers and the mailing was a consequence ?

Scoosh PM'ed me to arrange drop off of the SPDs, so all we need now is some spokey dokeys and a foxtail and you're good to go.
