Yesterday afternoon DPD delivered an Amazon parcel, then half an hour later the same man in the same van came back with a delivery from B&Q. This morning I had an Amazon parcel delivered by the Post Office, then half an hour later the same van came back with another parcel from the same Amazon order.

Sunny and warm trek to Chevin Cycles. Noticed they had some black laced gravel shoes reduced which thought might be more suitable for the office than my blue Specialized trainers, which are beginning to wear out. However definitely too tight width wise on my right foot. Had my feet measured and advised to look for a wide fit 45.5.

It is so great that you help keep Amazon in business. Who needs high street shops anyway?

I'm barely mobile enough to get to the shops for fresh food any more, let alone anything else. But back in the days when I was more mobile:
I got a snipe from the guy in Colchester Cycles once, because he thought I was buying everything online after looking at it in his shop first, so I went home and totted up all the cycling kit I'd bought in the several years since I bought the bike.

What I found was that I'd spent more on the High St. than I had online, and more in his shop than I had in any other, even after excluding the cost of the bike itself, which was also bought on the High St.

Just printed off the completed chapter to add to my hard copy manuscript, and also backed up the file on the other laptop. A difficult chapter to write, as it covers some uncomfortable topics. And I don't pull any punches in that department.

Now have 25 completed chapters at just over 100,000 words.

Next chapter should be fun, as I get to play with a very obnoxious character. Though because she is kind of based on a real person, I will have to tread carefully. But yeah, I'll be creating a right Karen...

If I said Foulston to @Jenkins, he would know who I'm talking about.

Reynard, you has said earlier you were writing a 'novel' which is fiction, but are you actually writing an expose?

It's been a warm and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard, with high cloud and hazy sunshine.

Did not sleep terribly well. Had a bit of a kitchen morning. Dealt with all the bread and rolls I bought yesterday, stored the ones that I wanted to keep aside, and kept out the ones for immediate use. Also finished making my seafood stock - straining the cooled stock and putting that into a tupperware in the fridge. The final task was loading the crock pot to make a batch of Rillettes de Mans with the pork belly that I took out of the freezer. Smells fabby.

Lovely lunch of a crusty white bakery roll filled with smoked cheddar and the last of the salami Napoli, plus fruit and a :cuppa:

Afternoon was spent cutting more grass. Had to slalom around the daffs and the self-seeded forget-me-nots and alliums. Also noticed that there are two cherry trees a stone's throw away from the house that are dead, and that the tops got snapped off during the winter storms. When I've finished the grass cutting, felling and clearing those two trees will be next on the agenda. There will be a good supply of firewood from those - which will go into the log store in preparation for next winter.

Now sat with a :cuppa: and a fruity flapjack thingy, and have the Arsenal v Brentford commentary on BBC sounds via the laptop, and the muted Formula E coverage on the TV.
