I think think he's doing to to himself now.

Doesn't help that he bigged himself up earlier in the season as the title contender he never was.

I wonder what made him say that, he's changed his tune now though and is talking about consolidating second place, its strange the way he went to pieces he'd been doing well before that.

It's a shame. He's a decent 2nd tier driver and should be doing much better than he is in the manner of Bottas in his best days at MB . We shouldn't write him off though, he might bounce back after summer break.

Ricciardo 14th in FP2, Tsunoda a creditable 3rd, but it looks as it the Honey Badger wnd much of the field were doing long run sims. He certainly didn't embarrass himself. Fingers crossed he has a good race.

Ricciardo outpaced Tsunoda in FP3. If he can do the same in quali and a few races then poor old Perez will develop a serious dose of squeaky bum.

Hope Tsunoda does a "Norris" on Ricciardo . Ricciardo baled out of Red Bull when he saw how potent a force Verstappen was developing into. He grins, but undermines team mates with devious comments dressed as wit. He did it to Hulkenberg etc and tried it on Norris who outdrove him totally. Little Yuki should not allow the grinning assassin to undermine him . Herr Doktor, Helmut Marko , fires Red Bull drivers quicker than a rotating door in a hurricane. Nick de Vries drove only 10 F1 races and got the boot, most were circuits he was not familiar with . He had no prior F1 mileage . Glassy eyed staring Marko himself only drove in 10 F1 races and never scored a point himself either. F1 is littered with wonderful drivers who never got a proper chance or were booted out before they found their feet. Jonathan Palmer won everything before him till he got to F1 and was presented with a dog of a car .. a Zackspeed . Same for Tommy Byrne , got a Theodore dog of a car and it ruined his chances in F1. He was not the right fit for F1 and was refused a McLaren drive by Ron Dennis who was busy licking Senna's boots . Senna refused point blank to race against Tommy Byrne . Martin Brundle nearly took the British F3 title from Senna . Senna was great , but he beat most drivers before the flag dropped. I hope Tsunoda steels himself . Remember Brian Redman ? stunning talent who crashed a F1 Cooper when the front suspension failed. He was badly injured . Redman had lots of success consequently but never got the door of F1 opened to him . again . Oscar Piastre has 1000s of developmental mileage under his belt ( thanks Alpine) before his first F1 race. No matter how talented you are , if the stars don't align for you , you haven't a prayer

Too late! Tsunoda out in Q1, Ricciardo through to Q2. First competitive test and hes been spanked. Perzez's buttocks are now so tightly clenched he pulls the seat out the car with him.

Nice work from Ramilton, just pipped Max for first. Superb result for Norris in third. Can Ramilton make stick for the race? Ooh, I'm so excited I could tear a kleenex!

Yes, a tasty front row, first corner could get entertaining.

Senna had a habit of getting people to dance to his own particular tune, and he didn't care who he stepped on to get what he wanted. He wasn't the best driver out there by any means, but he was by far the best manipulator of people.

Senna refused to race at the FF Festival to avoid losing his unbeaten record. And he though nothing of stuffing his competitors into the wall / gravel if it suited him. He had sponsors picking up the bill, most of the other guys were paying out of their own pocket. Win by beggaring the opposition was how he tended to operate in FF2000 / F3.

As for the stars aligning, Damon Hill is the classic case in point. Mediocre at best, largely kicked into the weeds by his competitors in the lower formulae, but just happened to be in the right place at the right time as well as getting the sympathy vote just because of his father.
