Yep, I do listen to Absolute but it's full of advertising but I mean there should be a national BBC station playing instrumental band music.
Not playing bad rap music to youngsters through Radio 1because it's PC.

Why should there be ? Stream it if you want to listen , playlist radio is on it's way out so there'll be less and less in the coming years.
I'll ignore the second line due to excess laughter.

Yes, but what I'm getting at is as a tax payer funded radio station, BBC should provide a station that covers new and old indie/rock music as their main playlist.
R1 currently playing dance
R2 Numpty Vine talkshow
R6 rave

The BBC isn't tax funded though, the TV Licence is a charge imposed on those that want to watch any Live TV. Some of that money may go to the Radio Stations but you don't need a licence to listen to them.

I'm worried about that, 80s Gary Davis show is one of my favs. I could probably cope with him leaving the show so long as it carries on. Not sure who would step in though.

Absolute Radio Group have Frank Skinner on Saturday AM & Jason Manford on Sunday AM, over every station they have, obviously prerecorded, with the playlist worked around the abject drivel they come out with, both are dreadful on radio, but they're blocking spots that some genuine talent could have, it's lazy programming
