Very sorry to hear about your work troubles, @Col5632

Assuming you want to stay with your current company, would it be worth grabbing the bull by the horns/talking to your boss and saying you would like to re-train if possible? Would show a positive attitude and all that ... unless you feel it would put the spotlight on you for the wrong reasons of course ...
:hugs:

Just finished replacing chain and cassette on the road bike - now hoping for just an hour of less than abysmal weather this weekend to test them out.

Head east ... heavy showers rather than constant :rain::rain::rain: predicted tomorrow ...

'Character Building - The Sequel' this evening, got a wee bit :giggle: damp on the way home from work , must have been the sting in the tail of that big rain band passing through ... Huge puddles hiding all the potholes, too, luckily I know where they are by now.

You're out cycling this morning, for pleasure? Much respect to you! It's cold, wet, and windy here; and I'm only 25 miles or so from Glasgow. :cold: :rain::surrender:
It was freezing, a bit wet, took the ice bike (not needed in spite of the met office warnings), my derally thingmy jumped into the spokes, I ripped my leggings on a sharp edge of the saddle rail ... should have stayed in my bed

 oh no, I hope it was only the leggings and no injuries to you!
Did the derailleur destroy any/a lot of spokes? Luckily you have a selection of bikes to keep you going ...
