I've been lucky enough to have had some cracking nights out lately ... an eclectic mix of theatre productions, films, music gigs and stand-up comedy performances. I always appreciate people's recommendations and like to go along and experience all kinds of live entertainment. Recent highlights for me have been the films "Heretic" and "Companion" plus a great stand-up gig by Chris McCausland. But I've just got to recommend this lot to you:

I never thought I'd ever enjoy anything like that, but the deadpan humour, the sheer range of different music styles and the talent of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain just shone out. A great performance including David Bowie, Adele, Sylvester, Black Sabbath, Robert Palmer numbers, interspersed with Rawhide, The Muppet Show and Champion the Wonder Horse! I'm told they do a great version of "Shaft" sometimes, too. I smiled from start to finish and can't recommend them highly enough. Real feelgood stuff.

If you can recommend any really great shows, films or gigs that are touring now, let's hear about them, Cyclechatters. Spread the word.

There's a coffee shop, in the main-entrance, at work
Some staff are calling before starting/on morning break/afternoon break/going home
I often wonder how much they're spending in there

I've never used it, I keep a box of teabags in my locker, & make my own (Yorkshire Tea)

I'd do the same if still working in such a place. That or take a flask of coffee as no way would I buy coffee 3 or 4 times a day!

I believe that NHS staff get a decent discount there, even so I find it easier/cheaper to use coffee bags in a small flask & insulated mug, we buy them in bulk so even cheaper for work

Don't think I've ever seen a thread go off piste so completely so quickly.

If anyone is remotely interested, Ben Elton's current stand-up tour is well worth a look-in. No support act, just Ben on his own, filling over 2 hours with high energy, intelligent ranting about modern life and getting old. A highly entertaining evening at Cheltenham Town Hall last night.
