@Fubar - You mean you're not having your once-a-week bath on a Saturday?

CC Ecosse must be full of 'characters' by the sound of it  ... or is that a euphemism for slight madness setting in (brain softening effect of cycling in the rain ;))

I thought I'd get an opportunity to build my character this morning - but the rain had cleared completely by the time I got up ... :wahhey:
Looks like there'll be plenty of further opportunities for self-improvement  during the next few days ...

On leaving work, it had just got to below 0C, if the roads hadn't been dry I might have had my first opportunity to test the ice tyres (Met Office warning for yellow ice :surrender: yellow warning for ice)...

To be fair my step-daughter is in Canada at the moment and yesterday it was -20 and a snowstorm was shutting everywhere down - a pretty rare event in canada. Not too many cyclists about apparently.

Where is this warning @Telemark ? I checked yesterday, it said rain, no warnings.

I've just taken this off a weather site, please note where they have 'moved' Islay to..it might throw Fubar's arrangements a bit off for that weekend away....

Well, met office site checked just now, no ice warnings. Should I take the ice bike tomorrow? I think I will, just in case, time I finish, around 11pm, could be icy.

Met Office one I looked at has one for possible ice, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, East Ayrshire, Argyll and Bute but there was a more general one earlier this morning covering a larger area. Was speaking to someone an hour ago just outside of Kilmacolm and the puddles in layby had ice film forming but rain heading our way with higher temps, big load of rain off Ireland as we write...

If it's -1C at my work place now (200m a.s.l.) and it rains later on on top of that, there will be ice in the morning ... mix of :hyper:(testing of ice tyres) and :surrender: (drivers paying attention) feelings for the wee roads, the big roads will be gritted anyway ...
@Pat "5mph" - the forecast for tomorrow evening is +5 or 6C again, it's only tomorrow morning that might be a bit interesting for ice, in the evening it'll be back to heavy rain  ... but it might dry up by 11pm at your end ... if you believe this forecast.
