Hi All,

I'm pretty new to the forum and have just come across this thread and seeing as its a mostly inhabited by us scots I thought I would ask for some advice in here.

I've just taken delivery of my serious first road bike and after doing around a 100miles this last week I've ended up what I think is a dose of Handlebar Palsy. I've done some research on the causes (and remedies) which all point to my grip and bike fit, maybe I should have done this before I bought the bike but would you guys like to recommend a good bike fitter in the Fife area.

I've heard Hardie Bikes in Cairneyhill are meant to be decent for a bike fit :okay:

Spokes (branches in St Andrews and Kirkcaldy) also do bike fits and might be nearer for you in East Fife.

As stated Hardies in Cairneyhill, Spokes, Leslie bikes, Sandy Wallace in Inverkeithing, Synergy in Auchterarder and further afield Velocity44 in Stirling all do bike fits - probably best to phone first as they all do it differently and you will need to book.

Have you tried some micro adjustments yourself first? And is there a reason you're not going back to the shop you got it from (i.e. bought online)?

I would guess that there are between two and three squillion videos on bike-fitting in the interweb, as well as articles like this from British Cycling. Might be an idea to try that first and if it doesn't help, then sign up for professional service. It's not really that complicated.....

Hopefully selling my hybrid tonight... so a bit more to add to the pot for the new road bike! ^_^

I went into Evans the other day and quite like the ones below... though they didn't have any in my size and I ran out of time to ask them to get one in to test - not technically n+1 if I sell one before buying it I suppose! Still it will be nice to have a road-bike for the weekends/bright nights that doesn't have a rack and mud-guards permanently fitted to it! :bicycle:

I take it you are selling it for more than Evans will give you on their trade in options? *note I know, but I thought I would double check....

Great day on arran yesterday, seen a total of about 10 cars on the whole island, barely any cyclists on the boat or the island.

Never realised just how crappy the roads are unless on bike, can't wait to go back on bike cause its just no the same in the car

Something to do with the wind perhaps - yesterday I had the choice of going out and contending with wind gusting to 27mph, or investing in a can of McEwans and watching Liege -Baston - Liege. Cracking race!
