There's more satisfaction to be had from cresting the top of a tough climb than anything else on a bike... and the sensation of speed on the descent is a pretty good reward! You don't get a fast descent on the Tak though.

You do get a refreshing river crossing though....

I've started a thread in the Campaigning and Public Policy section regarding a survey by Transport Scotland seeking views regarding our major urban railway stations.
It appears 46 people have looked at the thread but no one has posted, it would be good to know that some of you had responded.
If we don't tell them what we want when invited, there's no hope at all of improvements.

solved sliced walls problem, brake pads had worn to a point on one side. picked up new tires and swapped over pad blocks tonight then gout out to test. much happier man now

Cycled to work and back today, strange noise started on way home when I pedalled. No noise when freewheeling or pedalling backwards.

Seeing as how I can't fix these things myself, will need to keep a close eye on it then possibly pop into the LBS. Again!

Check brake pads aren't rubbing when you spin wheel, I had a similar noise last week and it was that

I think it could be - do I just loosen the pads?

Just move the v levers slightly until they don't touch on either side, just by hand should move them.

Define "strange noise" - Clicking? Scraping? Screeching? Creaking? Whirring? Squeaking?

Creaking I'd say.

It's disc brakes I have.

Creaking can often be associated with the bottom bracket being on the way out. This would also fit in with no noise when freewheeling - if it was brakes, there would still be noise when freewheeling.

Also check chainrings, cranks are tight when you're rocking them to check BB
