Try riding no-handed and out of the saddle a bit too. Either a loose stem bolt or seat clamp can cause creaking

Probably best to do them at separate times:okay:

Maybe someone localish can have a ride on my bike and give me the experienced person's view? I don't know if it's me or the bike!

Any willing volunteer can have a shot of it, take it home, do some wheelies - tell me what it's bloody problem is!!!!

Take it to PoP on Saturday and you'll have more opinions than a pontifical convention! ;)

Cycled to work and back today, strange noise started on way home when I pedalled. No noise when freewheeling or pedalling backwards.

Seeing as how I can't fix these things myself, will need to keep a close eye on it then possibly pop into the LBS. Again!

Bottom brackets, stem bolts, seat clamps...

50p here says it's the pedals. What type are they?

Take them off and give the threads a clean and refit them. If they are SPDs or other clipless types then give them and clean and a spray with GT85.

It had the BB replaced after 700 miles or so from new, which was maybe 300 miles ago. So unlikely to be BB.

The pedals are SPD. I'll take them off tomorrow and give them a clean - you never know, could be that!

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to the forum and have just come across this thread and seeing as its a mostly inhabited by us scots I thought I would ask for some advice in here.

I've just taken delivery of my serious first road bike and after doing around a 100miles this last week I've ended up what I think is a dose of Handlebar Palsy. I've done some research on the causes (and remedies) which all point to my grip and bike fit, maybe I should have done this before I bought the bike but would you guys like to recommend a good bike fitter in the Fife area.
