Just had this event flagged up to me by a mate who works in the roads dept in Perth:

http://ironride.co.uk/

Looks like some pretty challenging routes, though I can't see prices from work pc (and I've no stake in it, just said I would highlight it) - @Edwardoka @Pedrosanchezo local to you guys...
I'd seen that but I've already signed up for the Ullapool Mor

was up the Crow Rd and the Tak Ma Doon today, much better surface on both climbs, one really rough bit on the crow rd and thats about it...tomorrow i am hoping to hit Sheriffmuir then Dunning hill, then tomorrow night me and the girlfriend are going into Edinburgh for a meal, we are booked into 21212, so looking forward to it..

If I was to get to the Tak Me Doon road, would I turn left after that really potholed section after (during?) the Crow Road rather than right towards Fintry?

I'll need to give that a bash. I play golf at Kilsyth so every weekend at some stage watch the poor souls cycle up the road then go back down at dangerous speeds! Why's it such a popular route?

Have you not done the tak before?

There's more satisfaction to be had from cresting the top of a tough climb than anything else on a bike... and the sensation of speed on the descent is a pretty good reward! You don't get a fast descent on the Tak though.
